Floor Technician Position Summary

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Floor Technician to join our team. The Floor Technician is responsible for maintaining and restoring various types of flooring surfaces to ensure a clean, safe, and professional environment. This role requires knowledge of floor care equipment, materials, and safety procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Sweep, mop, scrub, strip, wax, and buff floors
  • Operate and maintain floor care equipment (buffers, burnishers, scrubbers, extractors, etc.)
  • Perform carpet cleaning and extraction
  • Refinish hard surface floors, including tile, VCT, concrete, and hardwood
  • Apply floor finishes and sealants according to manufacturer specifications
  • Remove trash and maintain overall cleanliness of assigned areas
  • Follow all safety guidelines and proper chemical handling procedures
  • Identify and report maintenance or safety concerns

Qualifications

  • Previous floor care or janitorial experience REQUIRED
  • Ability to operate floor maintenance equipment
  • Knowledge of floor finishes, strippers, and cleaning chemicals
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
  • Strong attention to detail

Physical Requirements

  • Frequent bending, kneeling, and standing
  • Ability to push and pull equipment
  • Exposure to cleaning chemicals and varying temperatures
  • Must be able to lift 35 lbs
