What to expect as a Floorperson at Saint Mary Home:
The Floor & Laundry Technician ensures a clean and safe environment for residents, visitors, and staff by performing a variety of housekeeping and maintenance duties. This role includes cleaning resident rooms, common areas, and facility grounds, while adhering to all safety, infection control, and operational guidelines.
Required knowledge, skills & abilities:
Collects trash, recyclables, and soiled linen throughout the facility.
Operates housekeeping equipment such as washing machines, dryers, auto-scrubbers, and floor buffers.
Cleans and disinfects tile floors, stairwells, furniture, and fixtures; performs carpet vacuuming, spot-cleaning, and extraction.
Cleans and sanitizes bathrooms, resident beds, and appliances.
Assists with outdoor maintenance, including snow removal during emergencies.
Ensures compliance with safety, infection control, and hazardous materials policies.
Promotes customer satisfaction and contributes to quality improvement efforts.
Qualifications:
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
Preferred: Six months of housekeeping experience in healthcare settings.
Physical ability to maneuver, lift up to 60 lbs, and perform cleaning tasks throughout the facility.
This position requires flexibility, teamwork, and dedication to maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and resident safety.
