Job Description

Our Day Habilitation/Drop-In program located in Slingerlands, NY currently has a full-time, 40-hour Day Habilitation Floor Supervisor position available. The schedule for this position is Monday- Friday 10:30am-7:00pm* (* includes a 30-minute daily unpaid lunch break) with flexibility The rate of pay is $21.00 per hour + longevity, and this is an hourly position. The Floor Supervisor – Day Hab & Respite/Drop-In assists the people we support to develop communication and interpersonal skills and to explore new areas of interest both on-site and in the community. The Floor Supervisor assists management in making sure the program’s needs, routine and requirements are met. Floor Supervisors that meet WWAARC insurability standards transport people we support to/from program as well as within the community and coordinates recreational and other activities.

  • At least 18 years of age.
  • Have a valid driver’s license that meets WWAARC insurability standards. A strong driving history preferred.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of individual and agency information.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • 1-year supervisory experience preferred.
  • Demonstrate the ability to motivate, inspire, and lead staff.
  • Demonstrate effective decision making and problem solving skills.
  • Must be empathetic, compassionate, patient and reliable.
  • Must have sufficient proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing English to communicate effectively with people supported and team members and to complete required documentation in accordance with regulatory and agency standards.
  • Must be able to perform the essential physical functions of the position, which include activities such as lifting and/or moving items up to 50 pounds, twisting/bending, positioning self as needed to complete tasks, and movement within the classroom and/or throughout the building for extended periods of time.
