Job Description

of Responsibilities

As part of drill crew, a 4th or 5th Floor Hand operates machines and maintains equipment used in surface drilling operations. Most of their time is spent on the rig floor assisting the driller in a multitude of functions. Floor Hands normally work 12 hour shifts. Schedules will consist of 28 days on and 14 days off; working both days and nights. Floor Hands are expected to represent his/her self and Noble Drilling in a good manner. Floor Hands should always follow the correct chain of command and report all safety problems or violations immediately.

Primary Responsibilities (Not listed in relation to their priority)

  1. Work on rig floor while tripping (pull slips), make connections
  2. Assist Derrick Hand and Motor Man
  3. Keep rig, equipment and location tidy as directed by supervisor
  4. Basic care and maintenance of rig, tools, equipment and trucks
  5. Clean restroom house every shift
  6. Organize and maintain: Conex, XO basket, tools, slips, bowls, welding trailer
  7. Other duties assigned as needed

Requirements

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum of 0-1 years related experience.
  • Must successfully complete Noble Drilling’s industry specific training and orientation

Education Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).

Special Requirements

  • 18 years or older
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Average Shift: 12 hour work days
  • Rotation: fourteen day on fourteen days off

Travel Requirements

Travel to rig location before tower begins.

Language Skills

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s. Ability

to perform these operations using units of American money and weigh measurement, volume, and

distance.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
