Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous experience in commercial cleaning or floor maintenance preferred.
  • Experience stripping, waxing, buffing, or burnishing floors is a plus.
  • Ability to learn and safely operate a variety of floor care equipment.
  • Ability to pass and maintain required security clearance/background screening.

  • Ability to read, write, and understand simple instructions.
  • Ability to follow established procedures and safety guidelines.
  • Ability to use good judgment when performing assigned responsibilities.
  • Ability to learn proper operation, care, troubleshooting, and maintenance of different types of floor equipment.

What You Will Do

  • Safely operate and maintain floor care equipment, including electrical and battery-powered machines.
  • Perform routine floor care, including sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, scrubbing, buffing, burnishing, stripping, and refinishing.
  • Maintain carpet and hard-surface flooring to high standards of cleanliness and sanitation.
  • Follow proper procedures for hard-floor maintenance and the safe use of mechanical equipment.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on assigned equipment according to manufacturer guidelines and company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Inspect equipment and report maintenance or safety concerns to the supervisor.
  • Clean and maintain hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevator areas, stairways, locker rooms, and other assigned work areas.
  • Polish metal fixtures and fittings and clean windows, door panels, and sills.
  • Empty wastebaskets and replenish restroom supplies.
  • Request necessary supplies and equipment through the supervisor.
  • Complete required paperwork and documentation accurately.
  • Follow all safety procedures and company policies.
  • Maintain a professional appearance, dependable attendance, positive attitude, and strong work ethic.
  • Work cooperatively with team members and demonstrate respectful and supportive interactions with people with disabilities.
  • May train other employees on proper use, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance of floor equipment.
  • Provide janitorial support as needed.
