Job Description

Winpak is seeking a Floater to join their Shipping Department based out of Winnipeg on 8-hour rotating shift. In this role you will support all areas of Shipping Department, handle materials and equipment in a safe and efficient manner and provide coverage in assigned areas on all shifts as directed by the supervisor.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide operational support across Shipping, Recycling, and Receiving. Responsibilities include picking and preparing orders, loading outbound trailers, supporting recycling efforts throughout the facility, unloading inbound trailers, and staging incoming materials for processing.
  • Support the on-site storage of ABI material at Winpak and act as a liaison for material transfers.
  • Complete weekly safety inspections of designated areas.
  • Operate lift trucks in compliance with Workplace Safety and Health regulations.
  • Perform daily pre-shift equipment inspections and complete required checklists.
  • Maintain cleanliness of designated areas in accordance with housekeeping standards and update audit sheets upon completion.
  • Promote teamwork, cooperation, and effective communication across departments while supporting Winpak’s TQI program.
  • Accurately enter data into Movex, as well as Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Carry out all duties in compliance with ISO 9001 standards and the SQF Code.

Required Qualifications:

  • 1+ years of experience clearly communicating with team members both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work rotating 8-hour shifts as required including days, nights, and afternoons.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds (22.5 kg).
  • 6+ months of experience with hand and/or power tools.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 6+ months of experience with equipment and/or machinery (not limited to lawn mowers, forklifts, electric pallet jacks, cranes, balers).
  • 6+ months of experience in manufacturing and/or production environment.

Additional Details:

  • The Shipping Floater position is 100% onsite, working on the production floor.
  • We are located on 100 Saulteaux Crescent (Murray Industrial Park) and there are limited bus services to this location.

8-Hour Shift Rotation:

  • Week 1 - Monday to Friday 7:00 - 3:00 (days)
  • Week 2 - Monday to Friday 23:00 - 7:00 (nights)
  • Week 3 - Monday to Friday 3:00 - 23:00 (afternoons)
  • Week 4 - Repeat rotation starting at week 1
