Job Category: ClinicalAurora Mental Health & Recovery (AMHR) is seeking flexible and dynamic Float Providers to join our Acute Care Division, serving across three critical programs—the Detox Center, Crisis Walk-In Clinic (WIC), and Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU). In this versatile role, you’ll step in where support is needed most, performing essential duties such as client intakes and discharges, monitoring vital signs and withdrawal symptoms, facilitating safety checks, assisting with meals, providing group and individual support, and conducting brief assessments to connect clients to appropriate care. The ideal candidate is compassionate, adaptable, and calm under pressure, with strong interpersonal and de-escalation skills, excellent teamwork, and the ability to thrive in fast-paced, ever-changing environments while delivering accurate clinical documentation. Salary for this role. Starting wage is based on experience and company equity. Paid bi-weekly.
- $24.25 - $36.37 per hour
Available Shifts. This position is fully on-site, working 4 - 10-hour shifts.
- Swing Shift, Sunday - Wednesday 1:00 pm - 11:00 pm
- Swing Shift, Wednesday - Saturday 1:00 pm - 11:00 pm
Shift Differential Pay. The Day weekend shift differential is paid from 7 am to 3 pm on Saturdays and Sundays only; the Swing shift differential is paid from 3 pm to 11 pm; and the Overnight shift differential is paid from 11 pm - 7 am
- Day Weekend (Sat, Sun): $1.50/hour
- Swing Weekday (Mon-Thurs): $1.50/hour
- Swing Weekend (Fri, Sat, Sun): $2.75/hour
- Overnight Weekday (Monday - Thursday): $2.75/hour
- Overnight Weekend (Friday, Saturday & Sunday): $4.00/hour
Bilingual Language Differential Pay. Employees who successfully pass a language assessment are eligible to receive bilingual differential pay. This differential is provided as a fixed amount of $3,000 per calendar year, paid on a bi‑weekly basis across 26 pay periods, and prorated based on hire date and full‑time equivalency (FTE). Eligibility and payment are subject to the language requirements of the position and the employee’s demonstrated proficiency in the language.
Essential Functions:
Withdrawal Management Center
- Complete client intakes and discharges
- Monitor vital signs, withdrawal symptoms, and maintain a safe environment
- Provide guidance, stability, and crisis intervention
- Document all interactions accurately and timely in Electronic Health Records
- Conduct UA/BA tests and maintain facility security
- Assist with client transport and refer to supportive services as needed
Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU)
- Provide continuous client oversight and safety checks
- Assist with group therapy, individual support, and meal services
- Facilitate psychoeducational groups and implement treatment plans
- Deliver trauma-informed interventions and crisis de-escalation
- Support intake and discharge procedures and maintain a therapeutic environment
Crisis Walk-In Clinic (WIC)
- Act as the first point of contact for walk-in clients
- Perform brief assessments and assist with placement into appropriate care
- Maintain a calm, safe environment and monitor client activity
- Complete documentation and coordinate referrals
- Provide immediate support, de-escalation, and comfort items as needed

QualificationsRequirements:
- High School diploma with Certified Addiction Technician (CAT) actively registered with Colorado Department of Regulatory Affairs (DORA) or Bachelors’ degree with plan to obtain CAT credential
- Entry-level position - zero to six months of experience.
- Current CPR/First Aid Certification or ability to obtain within six months of hire.
- Preferred: Qualified Medication Administration Person (QMAP).
- Preferred: Bilingual in Spanish and English.
- Preferred: Valid Colorado Driver's License with a driving record that meets the organization's requirements.
- Strong interpersonal and de-escalation skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Basic computer skills and proficiency in documentation
- Preferred: Bilingual (Spanish/English)
- Compassion, professionalism, and adaptability in crisis situations
- Ability to write clinical notes and summaries in prescribed style and format.
- Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints.
- Written and verbal communication skills.
Required Vaccination and TB Test.
At AMHR the health and safety of our clients and staff are our top priorities. As part of this commitment, all employees are required to receive an annual influenza (flu) shot and present a negative TB test result before their first day of work. Proof of both the flu shot and negative TB test must be provided on your first day of employment. Medical and religious exemptions can be requested if necessary.
