Job Description

OCFO Flight Optimization & Capacity Control Agent

Role Purpose

Monitor and optimize existing routes for the Own Controlled Flights Operation (OCFO), ensuring flights are commercially and operationally optimized.

Key Responsibilities

  • Flight & process monitoring — oversee flight and operational processes, and maintain data quality in operational systems so planning stays accurate.
  • Capacity planning — plan the optimum weight and volume mix per flight based on actual bookings and freight on hand ( <24 hours before departure), and plan capacity utilization by route and cargo mix.
  • Booking control — manage and control pre-books and ad hoc shipments, safeguard space commitments to customers, and notify stakeholders of over- or underbookings
  • ULD build-up — plan ULD build-up efficiently and in line with IATA rules and internal quality standards, set build-up priorities during irregularities, and issue build-up lists, documentation and labeling.
  • Documentation & positioning — determine ULD positions with the flight operator and issue/distribute the flight manifest to all internal and external parties.

Reporting & Scope

  • Reports to: Hub Manager
  • Direct reports: none
  • Accountable for: flight optimization, cargo needed on aircraft, route potentials
  • Internal stakeholders: OCFO/GSSA teams, Airfreight, Sales, Management, Finance
  • External stakeholders: MAC, suppliers, third-party agents, charter operators

Key Metrics

  • Shared: load factors / yield optimization
  • Individual: flight analytics; capacity control

Required Profile

  • Experience in airline yield management, operations and handling, plus general airfreight market knowledge
  • Strong English, Excel skills
  • Experience with ULD build processes (IATA) rules and regulations
  • Analytical skills and spatial awareness, customer-minded, comfortable in supplier contact
  • Willingness to work at weekends and on public holidays.

Bottom Line

  • The role sits at the intersection of commercial yield optimization and physical load planning — it needs both analytical and hands-on operational strength.
  • Its leverage point is the <24-hour pre-departure window, where booking mix decisions directly drive load factor and yield.
  • Despite no direct reports, influence is high: the role coordinates across five internal functions and four external partner groups.
