JOB SUMMARY

Marriott International is seeking an experienced and highly skilled FLEX Senior Systems Engineer with a focus on Oracle HCM Cloud Core HR & Security to serve as the technical and functional expert for Oracle Human Capital Management (HCM) Cloud. This role is responsible for the design, configuration, administration, governance, enhancement, and support of Oracle HCM Cloud Core HR, Security, Workforce Structures, Data Management, Reporting, and related platform capabilities.

The successful candidate will act as a trusted advisor to HR, Technology, Security, Privacy, Compliance, and Architecture teams while driving scalable, secure, and sustainable solutions that support Marriott's global workforce. Leads complex initiatives involving business process transformation, application configuration, security architecture, data management, integrations, reporting, and quarterly release management.

The candidate shall perform research, analysis, solution design, requirements definition, application configuration, testing, deployment, and production support activities.

This position requires deep expertise in Oracle HCM Cloud Core HR, Security Architecture, Workforce Structures, Reporting, Data Management, Integrations, and Quarterly Release Management. The FLEX Senior Systems Engineer will lead complex initiatives, provide technical leadership, govern security and configuration standards, mentor team members, and ensure platform stability across a large-scale global enterprise environment.

CANDIDATE PROFILE Education and Experience

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Human Resources Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 7+ years of experience in enterprise application development, configuration, implementation, and support.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience supporting Oracle HCM Cloud Core HR in a global enterprise environment.
  • 4+ years of experience configuring and administering Oracle HCM Cloud Security.
  • Strong understanding of Oracle HCM Cloud architecture, business objects, business object relationships, seeded processes, data structures, and system dependencies.
  • Deep understanding of Oracle HCM Cloud Core HR concepts including:
    • Enterprise Structures.
    • Workforce Structures.
    • Departments.
    • Business Units.
    • Legal Employers.

  • Deep expertise with Oracle HCM Cloud RBAC, Security architecture and governance. Experience configuring and supporting Roles, Security Profiles, Areas of Responsibility, Role Hierarchies, User Account Provisioning.
  • Hands on expertise in Data Management, Reporting & Analytics
    • HDL (HCM Data Loader).
    • HSDL (HCM Spreadsheet Data Loader).
    • HCM Extracts.
    • OTBI Reporting.
    • BI Publisher.
    • SQL, PL/SQL.
    • Workforce data conversion and mass data maintenance.
    • Data validation, reconciliation, and audit processes.
  • Expertise in Integration Technologies
    • Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC).
    • REST and SOAP Web Services.
    • SFTP-based integrations.
    • Understanding of upstream and downstream HR ecosystem integrations including Payroll, Identity Management, Time Management, Benefits, and custom applications.
  • Experience with developing custom applications using Oracle Visual Builder Studio (VBS).
  • Experience gathering, analyzing, documenting, and translating complex business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management, and vendor management skills.

Preferred

  • Master's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Human Resources, or related discipline.
  • Oracle Global Human Resources Cloud Certification.
  • Oracle HCM Cloud Security Certification.
  • Additional Oracle Certifications in Benefits, Compensation, Payroll, Recruiting, Talent Management, Learning, or Absence Management.
  • Experience supporting global organizations with complex workforce structures and large employee populations.
  • Experience providing technical leadership within internally managed and outsourced delivery models.
  • Experience conducting security reviews, access audits, segregation of duties analysis, and compliance assessments. Expertise using Oracle Security Console.
  • Deep knowledge of Oracle HCM Configuration, Setup and Maintenance, Enterprise Structure and Workforce Structure configuration. Flexfields and Value Set configuration, Configuration Set Migration (CSM), Functional Setup Manager (FSM), Sandbox management and deployment governance, Profile Options, Lookups, and Document Records.
  • Expertise in HCM Experience Design Studio (HEDS), Redwood User Experience, AutoComplete Rules, Guided Journeys, Checklists and Journeys, Oracle Alerts Composer, Page Composer and personalization capabilities, Navigation, Appearance, Help Content, and User Experience configuration.
  • Expertise in Oracle Related Technologies
    • Oracle Analytics Cloud (OAC).
    • Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
    • Oracle Identity and Access Management solutions.
    • Enterprise integration and middleware technologies.
  • Experience supporting quarterly Oracle Cloud release assessments and deployment activities.
  • Experience developing functional and technical design documentation.
  • Experience creating and executing test strategies, test plans, test scripts, regression testing, integration testing, and user acceptance testing.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex Oracle HCM Cloud production issues.
  • Experience supporting large-scale enterprise SaaS applications with multiple business stakeholders.
  • Experience managing competing priorities across production support, enhancements, projects, and quarterly Oracle releases.
  • Experience working within Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid delivery methodologies.
  • Strong production support and incident management experience.

CORE WORK ACTIVITIES

Technical Leadership

  • Serve as the technical authority for Oracle HCM Cloud Core HR and Security.
  • Establish and maintain platform standards, configuration standards, security controls, and governance processes.
  • Mentor analysts, engineers, service providers, and project team members.
  • Provide technical leadership during solution design, architecture reviews, and implementation activities.
  • Identify opportunities to improve business processes, application capabilities, security posture, and operational efficiency.
  • Provide recommendations regarding future platform capabilities and technology investments.

Delivering Technology

  • Performs more complex quantitative and qualitative analyses for service delivery processes and projects.
  • Supports existing applications and large projects in a minimum of one environment.
  • Facilitates achievement of expected deliverables and obligations of Services Providers.
  • Validates completeness of requirements prior to Service Provider or internally managed team solutioning.
  • Through the service provider or internally managed teams, plans and coordinates complex implementation overseeing quality control of application functional design, usability, functionality, and implementation.
  • Advises support desk on change management as it relates to support and training of new system.
  • Ensures all projects follow the defined development and business case processes.
  • Ensures proper coordination with appropriate IT and vendor relations teams.
  • Provides consultation for routine and complex systems development.
  • Ensures early warning to the business stakeholder executives regarding degraded or missed service levels.

IT Governance

  • Follows all defined IR standards and processes (i.e. IT Governance, SM&G, Architecture, etc.), and provides input for improvements to the appropriate process owners as needed.
  • Maintains a proper balance between business and operational risk.
  • Follows the defined project management standards and processes.

Service Provider, COTS and Custom Application Management

  • Lead prioritization meetings with stakeholders and drive resolution of changes through the process for portfolio of supported applications.
  • Coordinate and track the delivery of highly visible operational activities/problems.
  • Groom backlog of features and changes with stakeholders.
  • Validates that Service Providers and internal teams develop and manage respective aspects of a project plan, including schedules, deliverables, and appropriate metrics.
  • Makes short term plans for the team to effectively utilize resources.
  • Monitors Service Provider and internal team’s outcomes.
  • Reviews estimates of work effort for client project provided by Service Providers and internal teams for accuracy.
  • Facilitates timely resolution of service delivery problems and minimizes the impact to clients.
  • Functions as an applications expert for both senior leadership and project teams in effective utilization of existing technology in business technical applications, either enterprise-wise or business-wide.
  • Leads workgroup/project team or functions as a technical specialist.
  • Supports and develops systems in a minimum of one environment.
  • Develops and manages respective aspects of a project plan with minimal assistance, including schedules, deliverables, and appropriate metrics.
  • Plans and coordinates complex integration(s) and implementation overseeing quality control of systems functional design, usability, functionality, and implementation.
  • Coordinates with quality assurance, infrastructure services, vendor and internal application delivery teams.
  • Provides consultation for routine and complex systems development.
  • Provides accurate estimates of work effort for client project.
  • Functions as a technical resource for other team members.
  • Understanding and ability to facilitate and execute technical infrastructure, technical specialization and technical integration activities.
  • Strong understanding of business processes, customers and functions.
