Job Description

The Corporate Systems Finance application team is seeking an experienced technology specialist with strong technical analytical abilities but also embodies a growth mindset. In this role you will be tasked with planning and supporting all efforts associated with Digital Technology Transformation (DTT), and partner with cross-functional teams across Global technology to support ongoing development and test efforts. In this position, you'll need to demonstrate an effective blend of thought leadership, strategic thinking, and tactical execution to drive stability and enhancements across the Finance application portfolio and Digital Technology Transformation (DTT), architecture. CANDIDATE PROFILE

Education and Experience

Required Qualifications:

Undergraduate degree in information technology, engineering, computer science discipline or equivalent experience/certification

7+ years of progressive professional experience in information technology application development and support including:

5+ years of hands-on experience in enterprise financial applications, hotel accounting applications, or hospitality technology systems

5+ years of technology leadership experience in a sourced or internally managed environment Demonstrated problem solving and troubleshooting skills.

Ability to troubleshoot issues and follow through to a resolution.

Demonstrated ability to pick up/assimilate new applications/technologies Extensive experience with data integrations across a variety of platforms

Experience with and knowledge of IT outsourcing activities in a managed services environment.

Technology leadership experience leading/managing and collaborating with multiple service providers in support of custom outsourced applications and customized SaaS software

Ability to elicit, organize and document detailed and comprehensive functional and technical system requirements

Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex ideas in clear business terms

Ability to listen and understand business requirements, ask questions, and translate the requirements into technical solutions Ability to comprehend different functional and technical viewpoints and identify/understand dependencies.

Proven ability to prioritize and manage multiple support requests while working on time sensitive projects and upgrades.

Ability to work independently, identifying and driving tasks to completion in a timely manner. Experience in Agile software methodologies and DevOps practices, including managing technical priorities within the backlog.

Comfortable with ambiguity, and data-driven storytelling while working in Agile-focused environment Experience developing test plans, test scripts, and managing unit, system, regression, and user acceptance testing.

Preferred Qualifications:

Understanding of Hospitality domain finance processes recognition is strongly desired. Familiarity with STIBO is a plus.

Experience in managing and leading a team of consultants to deliver the designed solution based on an on/offshore model. Experience with SOX processes and IT General Controls.

Experience in low-code application development platforms. Experience in technical integrations of Third-party software.

Experience with cloud environments like OCI, AWS etc. Customization experience using OCI is a Plus. Proven ability to support all aspects of large, complex applications with multiple stakeholders.

Understanding of financial and accounting processes including cyclical events like month end close, quarter close etc.

Understanding financial budgeting and forecasting processes.

Ability to analyze user stories and develop an end-to-end solution design and functional design.

Experience with change management, and enterprise architecture frameworks. Functional knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, test automation, solution architecture, API architecture and design, and systems integration.

Core Work Activities

Collaborate with multiple teams to ensure the accurate and timely conversion of legacy Property Management System data, focusing on financial attributes, for loading into STIBO.

Document, own, and maintain both functional and technical requirements related to the conversion of these finance-specific data elements for successful integration into STIBO.

Validate converted data for accuracy and completeness, document validation process and results.

Identify, report, track and resolve discrepancies with the appropriate teams. Analyze data to identify patterns and anomalies.

Partner with vendors and internal Marriott teams to provide leadership, strategy, and orchestration of key testing events to ensure that quality gates are consistently met.

Meet and exceed application KPIs, maintain accountability, and drive continuous improvement. Manage business stakeholder collaboration and risk management.

Partner with service providers and Marriott teams to ensure that test scripts and end-to-end test cases are properly executed and to meet program wave migration timelines. Support production environment and bring high-severity defects to closure.

Serve as a technical expert for Corporate Systems applications and platforms. Resolve and make decisions on more complex, non-routine service requests with limited to moderate risk. Coordinate with other leads/teams to manage risks and solve, escalate, and track cross team dependencies and blockers. Coordinate with finance discipline partners, 3rd party vendors and IT teams including but not limited to security, privacy, network teams, operations, and infrastructure teams to complete tasks.

Act as a key liaison between business stakeholders, project managers, and technical teams to ensure clear communication and alignment. Accountable for technical solutions that are high quality, well documented, aligned to standards, efficient, and easy to maintain. Ensure work product and support documentation is clear, high-quality documentation for processes, configurations, and functional designs.

Perform IT compliance and audit activities such as application access controls, privilege access controls for finance applications to ensure adherence to Marriott’s security and privacy standards. Ensure remediations are completed accurately and timely. Support and assist in the Internal security, SOX and Financial assurance process. Ensure aging of production support tickets are below thresholds and continuously monitor the aging of tickets and their resolution.

Ensure all hands-on deck for Sev-1/2 issues and create/maintain documentation related to Problem Management and triage.

Collaborate with infrastructure, security, enterprise architecture and broader corporate systems teams on SSO, architecture and security reviews and infrastructure management.

Monitor multiple projects by Service Providers and internally managed applications to successful completion, maintaining scope within the time and budget constraints.

Support month end, quarter end, year end and other cyclical processes through troubleshooting, optimization, and user support. Identify recurring issues and inefficiencies and propose solutions to drive continuous improvement, performance tuning, and automation of financial processes. Perform other reasonable duties as required for this position.

Technical Leadership Lead and mentor other technical team members and peers on the Agile Team on best practices/principles (e.g., via code reviews).

Create a culture of mentorship & sponsorship, aimed at strengthening professional development and technical principles. Collaborate with product managers and other stakeholders in defining requirements and establishing acceptance criteria. Make technical decisions and provide guidance on best practices.

Provide technology strategy feedback where appropriate. Foresee, identify, and resolve problems.

Ensure the quality and timely delivery of product features. Improve operational efficiency by leveraging SDLC Toolchain and contributing additional automation tools and scripts (e.g., CI/CD automation).

Provide input on resourcing to address critical bottlenecks and help onboard new team members.

Provides input on department or project budgets, capital expenditures or other cost/resource estimates as requested.

Apply knowledge/judgment to achieve business goals. 

Keeps up-to-date functionally and technically and apply new knowledge to job. Mentor and coach other team members
