JOB SUMMARY

The FLEX Business Support Analyst, Resiliency & Recoverability supports Marriott's Resiliency & Recoverability program through analysis, assessment, reporting, testing support, and continuous improvement activities. The role works across application, infrastructure, cloud, cybersecurity, architecture, and operational teams to gather and analyze information, support recovery readiness activities, coordinate recovery exercise activities, and contribute to initiatives that strengthen enterprise recoverability.

This position partners with stakeholders throughout Global Technology to gather and analyze information, identify opportunities for improvement, support governance, and testing activities, and assist with the execution of strategic resiliency initiatives. The FLEX Business Support Analyst, Resiliency & Recoverability applies critical thinking, analytical skills, and sound judgment to help assess recovery capabilities, support program objectives, and contribute to the continued maturity of Marriott's recoverability program.

The ideal candidate possesses a blend of analytical ability, technology awareness, curiosity, and effective communication skills. While prior resiliency experience is not required, the role is well suited for individuals with exposure to technology operations, governance, risk management, project management, service management, or related technology disciplines who are interested in applying those skills within a resiliency and recoverability program.

Due to the nature of resiliency and recoverability activities, this role is expected to support planned recovery exercises and, when needed, live recovery events. This may require occasional availability outside of standard business hours. Periodic travel may be required to support recovery exercises, planning sessions, operational activities, or partner sites.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Education and Experience

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience/certification.
  • Up to 3 years’ experience supporting technology initiatives, projects, operational processes, governance activities, reporting functions, or analytical activities within an IT environment operations environment.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to gather, analyze, and interpret information from multiple sources and stakeholders.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint.

Preferred

  • Experience working with technology, operational resilience, business continuity, service management, technology risk, governance or related business and technology functions.
  • Experience with Power BI, JIRA, Confluence, ServiceNow or similar collaboration and reporting tools.
  • Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, ITIL, or project management practices.
  • Experience analyzing data, developing reports, dashboards, or presentations.
  • Exposure to disaster recovery, business continuity, operational resilience, incident management, or technology governance concepts.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively within a matrixed environment.

CORE WORK ACTIVITIES

Resiliency Assessments & Analysis

  • Participates in activities that support the assessment of application, infrastructure, and technology service recoverability through information gathering, documentation, analysis, and stakeholder coordination.
  • Analyzes information related to recovery readiness, recovery capabilities, dependencies, risks, and improvement opportunities.
  • Supports resiliency assessments, readiness reviews, recoverability evaluations and associated documentation and reporting activities.
  • Contributes analysis and recommendations that improve operational resilience and recoverability.

Recovery Testing & Program Support

  • Supports planning, coordination, documentation, and execution activities associated with recovery exercises, tabletop exercises, simulations, and recovery validation events.
  • Assists with documenting outcomes, observations, risks, lessons learned, and improvement opportunities.
  • Supports follow-up activities associated with testing, assessments, and remediation efforts.
  • Participates in initiatives designed to improve recovery preparedness and testing effectiveness.
  • Maintains exercise artifacts, action-item tracking, schedules, meeting documentation, and follow-up activities associated with testing and assessment programs.

Reporting, Metrics & Governance

  • Develops and maintains reporting, dashboards, metrics, program analytics, and stakeholder reporting materials.
  • Supports preparation of governance materials, readouts, executive summaries, and stakeholder communications.
  • Analyzes program data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Supports governance reviews, readiness reporting, and stakeholder communication activities.
  • Assists with preparation of presentations, summaries, and reporting materials for program stakeholders.

Process Improvement & Program Development

  • Supports initiatives that improve resiliency processes, standards, procedures, reporting, and overall program maturity.
  • Identifies opportunities to improve efficiency through process improvements, automation, documentation enhancements, and data quality improvements.
  • Assists with the development and maintenance of program documentation, templates, and supporting materials.
  • Research emerging practices and technologies that may enhance recoverability and operational resilience capabilities.

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Partners with application, infrastructure, cloud, cybersecurity, architecture, and operational teams to support resiliency objectives.
  • Works with stakeholders to gather information, clarify requirements, and support execution of program initiatives.
  • Builds productive relationships across Global Technology to support recovery readiness and operational resilience goals.
