Job Description

Based at our Brisbane Airport Office (Qantas Drive), the Fleet Support Lead (ANZ) plays a key leadership role in driving the effective delivery of fleet support services across Australia and New Zealand. Working closely with operational teams, suppliers, and the Business Services Centre (BSC), this position ensures fleet assets are managed safely, compliantly, and efficiently throughout their lifecycle. The role provides expert guidance on fleet operations, leads a high-performing support team, and champions continuous improvement initiatives that enhance service delivery, customer outcomes, and operational performance. Success in this role requires strong stakeholder engagement, sound commercial acumen, and a commitment to safety, innovation, and service excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach and develop a team of Fleet Coordinators, fostering a collaborative, customer-focused and high-performing culture.
  • Oversee fleet asset management activities, including asset acquisition, lifecycle management, compliance, modifications and disposals.
  • Provide expert guidance and resolution for complex fleet matters, acting as an escalation point for customers, suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with operational teams, fleet partners and service providers to ensure responsive and effective fleet support.
  • Partner with onshore and offshore Business Services Centre teams to optimise service delivery, improve processes and ensure alignment of service standards and procedures.
  • Drive compliance, risk management and safety initiatives, supporting audits, investigations and the ongoing promotion of Zero Harm principles.
  • Monitor and review fleet financial performance, including expenditure, supplier costs, invoicing and reporting, providing insights to support informed decision-making.
  • Champion innovation, technology adoption and continuous improvement initiatives, leveraging telematics, automation and process enhancements to improve operational outcomes.

What You Will Bring

  • Demonstrated experience in fleet management, asset management, logistics or a related operational environment, with previous people leadership experience.
  • Strong knowledge of fleet operations, including maintenance management, compliance requirements, asset lifecycle management and supplier engagement.
  • Experience managing financial processes, reporting, budgeting, cost control and operational performance analysis.
  • Proven ability to build trusted relationships with stakeholders and effectively manage customer and supplier expectations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to interpret data, identify opportunities and implement practical solutions.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, ERP systems such as SAP or JDE, and fleet management or telematics platforms.
  • Excellent communication, organisational and leadership skills, with the ability to drive change, influence outcomes and support a culture of continuous improvement, safety and collaboration.
