Job Description

Our client is seeking to recruit an experienced Fleet Superintendent to oversee the technical performance, maintenance, safety, and seaworthiness of a fleet of approximately 35 vessels operating across the Mediterranean.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Fleet Technical Manager and Mechanical Engineer, ensuring the vessels remain reliable, compliant, and ready to support day-to-day marine and aquaculture operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee scheduled maintenance, repairs, dry-docking, and class/flag-state surveys.
• Ensure vessels comply with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate vessel deployment for feeding, net changes, treatments, harvesting, and fish transfers.
• Manage vessel crewing and vessel-specific training requirements.
• Maintain accurate fleet maintenance records.
• Assist with the procurement of spare parts, equipment, and technical services.
• Act as the main link between shore management and vessel crews on technical and operational matters.

Requirements

• 5+ years of relevant industry experience, with a good working knowledge of marine engineering, workshop management, or supervision.
• Experience with small to medium-sized fishing or commercial vessel fleets is preferred.
• Experience in the fishing or aquaculture industry will be considered an advantage.
• Strong attention to detail and high standards of workmanship.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Comfortable travelling across Malta and the Mediterranean region.
• Good command of English; Maltese or Italian will be considered an advantage.
• Experience with CMMS systems is beneficial.
• Valid driving licence.
