
SUMMARYOFRESPONSIBILITIESThisclassisresponsibleforsupervising,coordinating,andprioritizingthe light or heavy-dutyshop activitiesof the fleetmaintenanceoperationsfor over 600 vehicles and equipment valued in excess of $25 million dollars in support of the Public Works Commission.Responsibilitiesinclude,butarenotlimitedto,supervisingemployeesengagedintherepair/restorationmaintenanceof vehiclesequipment;reviewingworkinprogress; inspectingcompletedwork to include select quality control inspections;schedulingrepairsmaintenanceofallassigned vehiclesequipment;advisingmanagementaboutreplacementversusrepairofvehicles/equipment;maintainingupdating logsrecordsfilesandoperatingdrivingvehiclesinperformingworkassignmentsresponsibilities Ensures all applicable Federal, State, Environmental and Local Shop standards are enforced. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: (either)
Graduationfromatwoyearaccrediteduniversitycollegeortechnicalschoolwithadegree/certificationin automotivemechanicaltechnology,orrelatedfieldandaminimumoftwo(2)yearsofprogressivelyresponsible experienceinthemaintenance/repairofgasoline/dieselvehiclesequipmentwhichincludessupervisoryorlead workerresponsibilities,inalargeautomotiverepairfacility;OR
Graduationfromhighschoolorpossessionofahighschoolequivalencydiplomaandaminimumofsix(6)years ofprogressivelyresponsibleexperienceasdefinedin(A)above;OR
SPECIALREQUIREMENTS:MustpossessandmaintainavalidNorthCarolinaDriver’s license.
