JOB PURPOSE

BAE Systems is the UK Government’s nominated Prime Contractor under the Government-to-Government arrangements that are in place to provide equipment, support and training to Saudi Arabia. We provide maintenance of Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) aircraft and train RSAF and Royal Saudi Naval Force personnel safely in a training environment in how to use their aircraft, equipment and weapons.

Reporting to the Fleet Planning Specialist, the Fleet Planning Supervisor is responsible for monitoring maintenance activity conducted within the RSAF maintenance environment and ensuring it is correctly captured in the RSAF system of record (currently GOLDesp). He will report any deviations to his line manager.

The post holder will ensure that the M&CA regulatory framework is applied to all activities under their control and ensure historical documents relating to aircraft and all life-limiting/time-controlled equipment passing through Tornado Maintenance and Sustainment Centre (TMSC) are correctly compiled and processed to and from the RSAF as appropriate in accordance with RSAF Instructions and BAE Systems Process Documents and Work Instructions.

JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Assist with monitoring the status of RSAF Form 1600-1, Significant Historical Data, on asset installation to an aircraft in the active fleet, communicating shortfalls to line manager (LM).

  • Extracting aircraft usage and life-limiting data from RSAF system of record, for use by Fleet Management team.

  • Notifying LM of aircraft maintenance anomalies in RSAF system of record.

  • Create presentations for various levels of the leadership team.

  • Assist the Fleet Planning Specialist with the creation of the Tactical Brief.

  • Carry out various investigations by interrogating the data within GOLDesp.

  • Corroborating aircraft and system time change timelines between the physical records, GOLDesp and physical aircraft in the custody of TMSC as detailed in RSAF TO 1F-TIS-6.

  • Ensuring proper documentation of Time Change Technical Orders (TCTO)/Special Inspections (SI)/Teardown Inspection accomplishment, recording in GOLDesp and onward reporting of same to authorised distribution list.

  • Using fall-back reporting forms for compliance with instructions when the GOLDesp system is down.

  • Assisting the Records Superintendent and the R&M Lead with the Pre-Inspection and Post-Output Review Meetings (PIRM and PORM).

  • Assist Records with reviewing forms forwarded from the hangar floor and off-aircraft shops for filing, to make sure they have been compiled fully and correctly, before overseeing their transfer to RSAF Records Section.

  • Notifying Planning Team of Integrated Maintenance Solution (IMS) work package requirements on RSAF creation of new TCTO, Time Change and Special Inspections.

  • Overseeing the work activity of the Records Technicians.

  • Deputise for LM during periods of absence.

RECRUITMENT SPECIFICATION

Essential

  • Minimum of a recognised qualification to NVQ3/ONC level in a relevant discipline, or Part 66 Category A qualified, or suitable equivalent.

  • Have extensive post qualification practical maintenance/Continuing Airworthiness (CA) experience supported by formal recorded or experience in relevant CA role.

  • Must be fluent in English.

  • Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE) Registration.

  • Demonstrate knowledge / understanding of aircraft maintenance and engineering.

  • Understanding and application of human factors, error management, health & safety and proactive hazard analysis, appropriate to the role.

  • Able to describe or demonstrate a familiar level of knowledge of Continuing Airworthiness.

  • An awareness of the aircraft types managed and the aircraft maintenance environment.

  • A familiar level of skills for Fleet Planning and Reliability Programme management.

Desirable

  • Able to work on their own initiative to resolve technical issues.

  • Hold a broad aerospace and defence company / industry knowledge.

  • Knowledge in using both manual and computerised records management, data collection and information systems.

  • Understand Maintenance GOLDesp system or similar platform.

  • Experience of training/mentoring less experienced workplace colleagues.

  • Experience of building working relationships with stakeholders based in Dhahran, including RSAF Maintenance Operations Flight, Plans Schedules and Records, TMSC Base Maintenance, Prime Contractor and RSAF Quality Control.
