Responsible for preventative maintenance, diagnosis, and repairs on trucks and trailers in a safe and efficient manner to ensure minimal downtime and proper operations of equipment by performing the following duties:

Principal Responsibilities:

• Performs scheduled maintenance of fleet vehicles, i.e., brake repairs, oil changes, fluid changes, lubrications, and safety inspections as assigned.
• Performs external engine repairs. Internal engine knowledge preferred.
• Working knowledge in repair of vehicle drivelines, clutch replacements, electrical systems, and a/c systems.
• Must have knowledge of trailer lighting, air systems, brakes, and tires.
• Responsible for maintaining a clean and safe shop environment.
• CDL preferred for moving trucks between yards and test driving equipment.
• Must be available for occasional service calls.
• Participates and contributes to company safety program.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Education: High School Diploma or GED and trade school training.
• Experience: 5 years of vehicle maintenance experience in commercial setting preferred. Experience with OSHA repair facility safety requirements and personal protection equipment.
• License/Certification: Preferred ASE certified: Truck Equipment Cert., Electronic Diesel Engine Diagnostic Specialist Cert., Medium-Heavy Duty Truck Cert., Air brake Cert. according to FMCSA guidelines., CDL preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Experience in hydraulics, electrical, pumps, valves, and tools.
• Experience in welding.
• Excellent trouble-shooting skills.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to write simple correspondence.
• Ability to work independently and be flexible regarding work assignments. Ability to read schematics and electrical drawings.
