Job Description

Req ID:518243

At Alstom, we understand transport networks and what moves people. From high-speed trains, metros, monorails, and trams, to turnkey systems, services, infrastructure, signalling and digital mobility, we offer our diverse customers the broadest portfolio in the industry. Every day, 80,000 colleagues lead the way to greener and smarter mobility worldwide, connecting cities as we reduce carbon and replace cars.

Could you be the full-time Fleet Manager in Sofia we’re looking for?

Your future role

Take on a new challenge and apply your planning and organizing expertise in a new cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside professional and dedicated teammates.

You'll manage and coordinate our fleet management activities, making a tangible impact on the availability and efficiency of our train operations. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (project management, engineering, industrial, quality, and various support functions), provide support to our local teams, maintain the link with our central teams, and much more.

You’ll specifically take care of the preventive maintenance planning of the trains, monitoring and reporting the daily situation of the trains, the availability indicators, and the kilometres travelled by the fleet, but also support other departments to achieve organizational objectives.

We’ll look to you for:

  • Planning the introduction of trains for preventive and corrective maintenance in collaboration with the client’s Traction Operator.
  • Maintaining communication with depots to ensure train availability for traffic schedules.
  • Monitoring and reporting special situations in train circulation and managing related SAP entries.
  • Analyzing daily train park performance and ensuring availability indicators align with maintenance contracts.
  • Collaborating with the client to make decisions regarding traffic-related challenges.
  • Tracking and recording train mileage, including passenger and test train routes.
  • Supporting departments such as Operations, Engineering, Sourcing, and Logistics to achieve organizational goals.
  • Taking on Depot Manager responsibilities in their absence.

All about you

We value passion and attitude over experience. That’s why we don’t expect you to have every single skill. Instead, we’ve listed some that we think will help you succeed and grow in this role:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in operations, logistics, or maintenance activities.
  • Experience in rolling stock maintenance (a plus).
  • Proficiency in MS Office, SAP, Word, and Excel.
  • Advanced English language skills.
  • Fluency in Bulgarian (required).

Things you’ll enjoy

Join us on a life-long transformative journey – the rail industry is here to stay, so you can grow and develop new skills and experiences throughout your career. You’ll also:

  • Enjoy stability, challenges, and a long-term career free from monotonous daily routines.
  • Work with the latest standards in the railway industry.
  • Collaborate with transverse teams and helpful colleagues.
  • Contribute to innovative projects.
  • Utilise our professional and friendly working environment.
  • Steer your career in whatever direction you choose across functions and countries.
  • Benefit from our investment in your development through award-winning learning programs.
  • Progress toward top management roles in our local or global organization.
  • Benefit from a fair and dynamic reward package that recognizes your performance and potential, plus comprehensive and competitive social coverage (life, medical, pension).

You don’t need to be a train enthusiast to thrive with us. We guarantee that when you step onto one of our trains with your friends or family, you’ll be proud. If you’re up for the challenge, we’d love to hear from you!
