What You Will Do:

The successful candidate will be willing and able to:

• Oversee fleet maintenance operations across all units to support organizational goals.
• Assist in developing and implementing fleet policies, procedures, and regulations.
• Lead vehicle maintenance functions, including service scheduling, vendor management, staffing, and budgeting.
• Support performance management, disciplinary actions, and policy enforcement.
• Collaborate on policies for biohazard materials, medical supplies, and VFC refrigeration compliance.
• Manage fuel programs, ensuring accurate auditing and reporting.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal fleet regulations.
• Prepare and manage maintenance budgets to ensure cost-effective operations.
• Coordinate fleet asset acquisition, replacement planning, and tool/resource allocation.
• Respond to emergency service needs and oversee after-hours dispatch as required.
• Contribute to driver performance evaluations.
• Maintain fleet management systems and provide regular reporting.
• Deliver high-quality customer service to internal and external stakeholders.
• Participate in hiring processes and perform additional duties as assigned.

Eligibility: Benefits are available to employees working 30+ hours per week, effective the first of the month following 30 days of employment.

Compensation Disclosure:

The compensation range listed reflects Elica’s good-faith estimate of the anticipated hiring range for this position in accordance with California pay transparency requirements. Final compensation will be determined based on job-related factors, including relevant experience, education, certifications, skills, and qualification.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent is required. The incumbent would normally attain the required knowledge and skills through completion of office procedures coursework combined with related financial and administrative experience. Equivalencies will be considered.
• A valid CA Class B Commercial Driver’s license (required within six (6) months of appointment). Air brake Certification when needed.
• Comprehensive knowledge of the principles and practices of fleet repair facility management, biohazard and safety precautions of large scale operations in accordance with Federal and California Laws.
• Possess business practices applicable to fleet management, budget and accounting principles and preventive maintenance inspection methods and procedures.
• Comprehensive knowledge of existing and proposed state, local and federal laws, regulations, rules, and standards affecting vehicle maintenance, inspection, and specifications.

Additional Requirements

• Must have a current and valid California driver’s license and the ability to provide proof of personal auto insurance on the vehicle driven during working hours.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment:

The work environment is characteristic of the healthcare facility environment. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; use hands to handle or lift. The employee is also required to stand; walk; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee must also possess hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the phone. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderately loud; the incumbent must be able to focus in an environment with many distractions.
