Fleet Manager: The Impact You’ll Have On The Organization and World
• You will oversee the planning, dispatching, and execution of liquid chemical bulk shipments across three manufacturing sites.
• You’ll manage company drivers and bulk tank equipment while ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient end-to-end transportation.
• You will leverage Samsara telematics and BluJay TMS to optimize routing, ensure visibility, and control operational costs.

What Does a Typical Day Look Like? Here are your primary responsibilities:
Dispatch & Daily Transportation Operations
• Build and manage daily/weekly dispatch plans optimizing driver assignments and equipment utilization.
• Schedule and dispatch drivers based on priorities, time windows, HOS, and equipment compatibility.
• Monitor operations using Samsara telematics for GPS visibility, HOS, and safety alerts.
• Manage all loads in BluJay TMS including load creation, tendering, documentation, and closeout.
• Coordinate tank wash planning, certifications, and product compatibility requirements.
• Proactively manage exceptions such as delays, weather, equipment breakdowns, etc. and communicate updates.
Driver Leadership & Performance
• Supervise and coach company drivers; ensure alignment with site logistics needs.
• Oversee driver scheduling, PTO planning, and after-hours support rotations.
• Ensure HOS/ELD compliance and conduct audits and corrective actions.
• Conduct safety briefings, ride-alongs, and training on chemical handling and unloading.
• Hold drivers accountable for safety, professionalism, and adherence to Life-Saving Rules.
Safety, Compliance & Chemical Handling
• Ensure compliance with DOT, FMCSA, EPA, OSHA, and hazardous chemical regulations.
• Manage Driver Qualification Files including licensing, medical certifications, and testing.
• Lead investigations for spills, releases, and preventable accidents.
Fleet, Equipment & Maintenance Management
• Oversee readiness of tractors, tank trailers, pumps, compressors, and chemical equipment.
• Manage maintenance programs and track out-of-service assets.
• Monitor asset performance, fuel efficiency, and utilization using Samsara data (idling, harsh braking, speeding, engine diagnostics).
• Ensure tank trailer certifications such as pressure and thickness testing.
Cross Functional Coordination & Systems, Data & Continuous Improvement
• Coordinate with site Logistics, Customer Service, Manufacturing, and EH&S teams.
• Leverage BluJay TMS analytics to reduce freight cost, improve ontime performance, increase asset utilization, and capture accessorials accurately.
• Use Samsara dashboards to drive safety coaching, reduce idle time, improve fuel efficiency, and eliminate HOS violations.
• Standardize SOPs across sites including driver guides and emergency protocols.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives including PDCA, Kaizen, and RCA.

What is Needed to be Successful in this Role (Required Skills/Abilities):
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, logistics, transportation, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of transportation/dispatch experience including bulk chemical liquid operations.
• Knowledge of DOT/FMCSA regulations, HAZMAT requirements, and tank trailer operations.
• Hands-on experience with BluJay (e2open) TMS and Samsara telematics.
• Experience leading drivers or dispatch teams in a safety-critical environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience coordinating shipments across multiple manufacturing sites.
• Preferred: Knowledge of tank wash processes, wash codes, and trailer compatibility.
• Preferred: CDL-A with tanker/hazmat endorsements (not required).
• Travel: Minimal to moderate as needed.
• Physical Demands: Ability to conduct field checks, trailer inspections, and safety observations.
