Position Scope

We are seeking a Fleet Management Lead to support our team at NACG! This is a great opportunity for a organized and detail orientated individual who enjoys working with a high performing and innovative team while making an impact.

Reporting to the Fleet Manager, the Fleet Management Lead is responsible for the day to day management of the company's fleet assets. They will work on the purchase, renting, record keeping, transfers and disposals of heavy equipment, as well as organization of support equipment and light vehicles.

Responsibilities

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Manage the rental/purchase of equipment and delivery to site including: light vehicles, support equipment and heavy equipment (approximately 2000 assets)
  • Manage the returns of the equipment mentioned above including approving invoices and off rent charges
  • Maintain and manage purchase orders for rental equipment
  • Source quotes for new rentals and purchases
  • Complete monthly and quarterly fleet reporting
  • Assist fleet coordinator with equipment transfers and ensure accuracy of equipment master records
  • Analyze equipment costs and make fleet replacement recommendations
  • Review fleet utilization and manage transfer of equipment to ensure optimal utilization
  • Ensuring that all aspects of logistics are supported and tracked.
  • Coverage for Fleet Manager while they are away on personal leave.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

What Makes You the ONE

  • Minimum five years’ experience with mining/construction equipment administration or related field
  • Post-secondary degree or Mechanical Journeyperson with aptitude for working in the office
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with strong ability to establish and grow relationships with vendors and internal clients.
  • High level familiarity with typical costs of common repairs to heavy equipment and light vehicles
  • Proficient in using MS Excel at an intermediate level
  • Experience with JD Edwards ERP system and/or DAS reporting is an asset
  • Demonstrated ability to steward an effective meeting.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage several simultaneous activities, establishing priorities and delegating responsibilities as required.
  • Exercise independent judgment and initiative within established guidelines.
  • Familiarity with Provincial commercial vehicle requirements is not required as the position will be focused primarily on managing heavy assets and pickup trucks.
  • Travel to job sites primarily in the Wood Buffalo Region
