Job Description

Job Title: Fleet Maintenance Supervisor

Location: WBC

Reports to: WBC Facility and Maintenance Manager

Pay Band: Team Lead

The Fleet Maintenance Supervisor will ensure that Wawa Dairy’s vehicle maintenance programs are executed in an efficient, safe and economical manner. The Fleet Maintenance Supervisor will provide leadership, coordinate and direct union associates who are engaged in servicing and repairing Wawa Dairy Fleet vehicles and equipment. The Supervisor will also need to assure compliance with all regulatory requirements.

Principal Duties

  • Manage preventative maintenance schedule for all equipment. This includes creating and assigning work, closing out work orders and documenting other required work for Wawa Dairy vehicles and equipment.
  • Follow up on equipment downtime and prioritize and direct labor to minimize downtime.
  • Review and makes recommendations on scope of work and for major procurements related to fleet maintenance.
  • Assist in the development and leadership of short-and-long-range planning activities covering all aspects of fleet maintenance operations.
  • Maintain all fleet vehicle records pertaining to repairs, appearance and safety of the fleet. Ensures regulatory compliance for vehicles’ licensing; state and federal inspections, fuel taxes, EPA, DER, and DOT records.
  • Responsible for identifying and ordering new equipment for garage use. Ensures new equipment meets pre-defined specs.
  • Responsible for cost center management. Oversee operating expenses and capital projects.
  • Responsible for assisting with the overall efficiency of the garage, developing and implementing processes for improvements.
  • Lead in providing safety leadership for associates and training for onsite vendors and onsite contractors.
  • Understand company policy, the CBA, applicable government regulations and ensure compliance. Participate in CBA negotiations.
  • Provide overall direction and support for team and monitor and assess individual work in accordance with high standards of excellence. Provide feedback, coaching, support, opportunities for development, complete performance appraisals, take corrective action when appropriate, and participate in hiring decisions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Facility & Maintenance Manager.

Basic Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Management experience in fleet operations including refrigeration units preferred
  • 5+ years hands-on mechanical repair skills required
  • Use of automated equipment maintenance systems used in generating work orders, parts utilization reports and labor productivity
  • Experience in setting up and implementing Fleet Software system processes
  • Working Knowledge of vehicle maintenance standards is preferred as well as federal, state and local vehicle codes
  • Working knowledge of D.O.T. requirements and safety compliance
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule
