The Opportunity

Veolia ANZ has a fantastic opportunity for a Fleet & Equipment Supervisor to join our team based in Banyo, Brisbane

You will be responsible for overseeing fleet maintenance and workshop operations, with a focus on ensuring the safe, efficient, and productive execution of maintenance tasks in line with state and national laws/legislation, as well as Veolia’s policies, processes, and procedures.

What you'll be responsible for

  • Plan, schedule, and oversee maintenance activities to ensure the fleet consistently meets or exceeds state and national regulations, as well as Veolia's KPIs, policies, and procedures

  • Supervise and coordinate workshop and maintenance staff to ensure efficient workflow and high productivity

  • Manage maintenance contractors and contract maintenance service agreements to ensure agreed upon KPIs and maintenance deliverables are being met.

  • Foster a safety-focused culture by ensuring compliance with safety protocols, conducting risk assessments, and mitigating hazards within the workshop

  • Maintain ongoing and effective communication with operations and sales teams to schedule planned downtime, provide feedback on breakdowns, updates on repairs, and estimates on costs and completion times in a timely manner

  • Maintain inventory levels of spare parts and consumables to minimize unnecessary downtime

  • Coordinate facility repairs and maintenance

  • Participate in Monthly KPI meetings to discuss area performance. Contribute and take ownership of improvement plans and individual/team KPIs and objectives

What you'll need to be successful

  • Cert III in a mechanical trade or equivalent, and/or demonstrable years experience in a similar role

  • Familiar with COR and NHVR standards and guidelines

  • Experience in waste preferable

  • Prior experience supervising or managing a large team is desirable

  • HR License (desirable)

  • Computer Literacy - Intermediate

  • A proactive and practical approach to workplace HSE

  • Maintenance planning and scheduling experience
