Role Responsibilities

The Government of Alberta is seeking a dedicated Fleet & Parking Coordinator to join our team in the ministry of Agriculture and Irrigation. Key Responsibilities:

• To support the planning, coordination, and delivery of a broad portfolio of fleet program requirements across the province, including GoA fleet project implementation, preventative maintenance, driver safety reviews, and the adoption and maintenance of fleet systems such as DMIS, FOCUS, and Holman.
• Provide strategic support in fleet program management, including vehicle procurement and driver behavior oversight, with responsibilities such as speed reporting, accident reporting for Risk Management and Insurance, and traffic violation monitoring.
• Provide support for all fleet requirements. This includes direct support to ministry work units, internal fleet team and Service Alberta Red Tape Reduction (SARTR).
• Provide assistance in managing and maintaining the department fleet to support fleet program operations and risk mitigation, using fleet and driver system data to give leadership clear oversight and control.
• Support the fleet team in creating policies and processes, providing clear guidance for fleet operations, and monitoring compliance to ensure driver and vehicle safety.
• Building and maintaining relationships with Service Alberta Red Tape Reduction and their Fleet Services branch is a key aspect of this role. Additionally, this position provides support to Divisional Fleet Coordinators and the Facilities Team on projects such as parking allocations for new and existing staff, initiatives affecting indoor or outdoor parking lots, and preparing parker reports for management or project impact reviews.
• Lead all ministry parking activities, including responding to routine inquiries from parkers and internal fleet drivers, managing parking allocations, overseeing projects affecting parking facilities, and providing parker reporting for management or project impact reviews.

Qualifications

• Two-year diploma in Business Administration or related field, plus five (5) years of related experience in Fleet and Parking; or equivalent as described below:

Equivalency: Directly related education or experience considered on the basis of:

• 1 year of education for 1 year of experience, or
• 1 year of experience for 1 year of education.

Required:

• Valid Class 5 or higher drivers license with a drivers abstract not older than 30 days. Abstract will only be required for candidates being invited for an interview.

Assets:

• Extensive experience in fleet and OHS requirements in such field of work are key to success.
• Capital budgeting and procurement processes, project management and working in a complex environment with a broad range of stakeholder or client groups are an asset.

Position Information:

• Office located in Edmonton (J.G.O’Donoghue Building 7000-113 Street).
• Hours of Work: 36.25 hours per week (permanent full time).
• Monday to Friday (08:15 am-16:30 pm).
• Travel: Up to 10% travel; valid driver’s license is required.
