Job Description

We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Worcester to assist with the appointment of a Fleet and Compliance Manager, on a 2-month contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay £24.00 - £31.67 per hour

The Fleet and Compliance Manager will provide strategic and operational leadership for the Council's Fleet and Technical Services, ensuring the fleet is operated and maintained safely, efficiently and in full compliance with statutory legislation, the Operator's Licence and relevant national and local policies.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic and operational responsibility for the Council's fleet and technical teams.
  • Act as the Council's O Licence holder and ensure the fleet operates in accordance with relevant legislation and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with the Operator's Licence, VOSA and Department for Transport requirements.
  • Lead, manage, motivate and develop staff to deliver high-quality and efficient services.
  • Oversee the management and effective use of financial, physical and human resources.
  • Manage service budgets of approximately £2 million

Qualification:

  • CPC qualification / Transport Manager qualification, with the requirement to act as the Council's O Licence holder.
  • Degree or relevant professional qualification, or equivalent transferable skills and experience.

Essentials

  • Relevant professional experience in fleet and vehicle management.
  • Strong knowledge of legislative and statutory responsibilities relating to vehicle and fleet management.
  • Substantial experience of managing staff, teams and budgets.
  • Experience of delivering fleet management across multiple service areas.
  • Experience of service improvement, innovation and sustainable/environmental initiatives.
