Job Description

THE OPPORTUNITY

Step into a pivotal role at Flava, where you’ll lead the day-to-day production of the Breakfast show and help bring engaging, high-impact content to life. This is your chance to shape the voice of a well-loved brand—working closely with the Content Director and on-air talent to deliver a show that connects, entertains and performs.

You’ll be at the heart of the action, driving content creation, managing daily show flow, and ensuring everything that hits the airwaves (and digital channels) is fresh, relevant and compelling. From major interviews to on-demand moments, you’ll ensure the best of Flava reaches audiences wherever they are.

HOW YOU’LL DO IT

  • Collaborate with the Content Director to shape and deliver show strategy

  • Brainstorm and create standout content with hosts to meet audience and revenue targets

  • Produce and manage daily show content, ensuring smooth on-air delivery

  • Edit and distribute interviews, competitions and key moments across platforms

  • Source interviews and content aligned with the Flava brand

  • Partner with Commercial Integration to deliver engaging campaigns and promotions

  • Maintain a detailed forward planner for shows, promotions and key dates

  • Lead post-show debriefs and contribute to continuous improvement

  • Support brand activations and promotions, including events like Warriors Gamedays

  • Manage listener interaction across platforms including Audata, Bulletin and prizing systems

  • Utilise tools such as NexGen/Zetta, ProTools and Adobe suite

ABOUT YOU

You’re a driven and creative radio professional who thrives in a fast-moving, live environment. You bring energy, ideas and a proactive mindset—and you’re always thinking one step ahead.

  • 2+ years’ experience in radio or media

  • Confident communicator with strong relationship-building skills

  • Highly organised, with the ability to juggle multiple priorities

  • A natural collaborator who contributes positively to team success

  • Tech-savvy across broadcast and editing platforms

  • Passionate about content, audience engagement and great storytelling

  • Adaptable, resilient, and calm under pressure

  • Committed to continuous learning and professional growth

You’ll also maintain a strong understanding of media law, broadcast standards, and NZME policies, ensuring everything you produce is compliant and high quality.

WHAT’S ON OFFER

  • The opportunity to shape a flagship Breakfast show with a passionate team

  • A vibrant, supportive and creative work environment

  • Development opportunities within NZ’s leading media organisation

  • Exposure to exciting brand partnerships and campaigns

  • Access to industry-leading tools, platforms and training

  • A workplace culture that values collaboration, energy and innovation

All applicants will be asked about their working rights in New Zealand (e.g. citizen, resident, visa status).
