YOUR ROLE
Reporting to the Head of Contracts within the Contracts Legal Department, you will act as an International Contracts Lawyer on strategic Group projects and play a key role in the digitalization of legal activities through Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) and digital tools.
As a business partner to operational teams and the Legal Department, your primary focus will be on structuring, equipping, and securing the contract lifecycle (processes, data, automation, AI). Drafting and negotiation will be handled in support, with a strong emphasis on standardization and continuous improvement.
WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?
1. Legal Operations – CLM & AI focus (main scope)
• Contribute to the deployment of a CLM solution, supporting both the project team and legal users, including:
o Creating and maintaining users and access rights,
o Configuring workflows, assignment rules, and notifications,
o Supporting and guiding business teams in using the tool.
• Populate and maintain the CLM database: contract metadata, contract types, key clauses, reference data (clients, suppliers, entities, products/services), ensuring data quality and consistency.
• Structure, maintain, and enhance templates, standard clauses, negotiation playbooks, and clause libraries integrated into the CLM.
• Contribute to prompt engineering for AI functionalities integrated into the CLM and other AI tools deployed within the Group (clause generation/review, summaries, risk analysis, data extraction):
o Designing and testing prompts tailored to internal legal use cases,
o Continuously improving output relevance,
o Defining best practices for legal and business users.
• Define and monitor KPIs related to CLM usage and contract performance (processing time, adoption rate, data quality, template usage rate, etc.).
• Support change management: communication, training, user guides, and hands-on support for internal teams on CLM, new processes, and AI usage.
2. International Contracts (complementary)
• Draft, review, and adapt commercial agreements, service contracts, general terms & conditions, NDAs, supplier agreements, and partnerships in an international and diverse environment.
• Participate in contract negotiations with clients, partners, and suppliers.
• Advise business teams on contract structuring, ensuring alignment with existing templates, processes, and tools.
• Identify contractual risks (legal, operational, financial) and propose pragmatic solutions.
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
Education
• Master’s degree (Bac+5) in Business Law / Contract Law / International Business Law.
• An LL.M (US/UK) or dual degree (business school / engineering) is a plus.
Experience
• 3 to 5 years of experience within:
o The legal department of a large international group (legal or legal ops team),
o A business law firm or consulting firm.
Technical Skills
• Strong understanding of Legal Operations and Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM).
• Ability to functionally configure a CLM tool (workflows, users, metadata, templates).
• Experience in structuring and governing contract data.
• Proficiency in Excel and reporting tools; knowledge of Power BI is a plus.
• Strong interest in AI tools applied to legal work (contract review, clause generation, risk analysis) and contribution to prompt engineering.
• Solid expertise in international contract law and contract negotiation.
• Professional proficiency in legal English.
