What’s on offer?

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Fixed Plant Mechanic to join our team, supporting our asphalt plant operations across South-East Queensland, based out of Ormeau.

This is a hands-on role working on a various fixed asphalt and blending facilities, ensuring reliability, safety, and optimal plant performance.

Working Monday to Friday with opportunities for overtime, shutdown work, away works, and occasional weekends, this role offers a competitive hourly rate plus penalties, tool of the trade vehicle and superannuation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, repair, and maintain mechanical systems on fixed asphalt and blending facilities.
  • Fault finding on plant machinery including conveyors, burners, pumps, and associated systems.
  • Carry out preventative maintenance and breakdown repairs across fixed (and some mobile) plant.
  • Assist with planned shutdowns and major maintenance activities outside of normal business hours.
  • Complete field service repairs when required using a company-provided vehicle.
  • Maintain accurate service records, job cards, and compliance documentation.
  • Work collaboratively with operations and maintenance teams to minimise plant downtime.

What you will need

  • Trade qualified Mechanical Fitter / Fixed Plant Mechanic (or equivalent).
  • Experience with fixed plant, asphalt plant or quarry operations (highly regarded).
  • Strong mechanical fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in field-based environments.
  • Commitment to safety and quality workmanship.
  • Current driver’s licence (HR, forklift, EWP and confined space tickets advantageous).
