Fixed Plant Maintenance Long Term Planner

The Fixed Plant Maintenance Long‑Term Planner is responsible for supporting and governing the site’s asset management strategy by ensuring shutdown and weekly maintenance planners are positioned for success through effective lifecycle governance, forward planning, and continuous improvement initiatives. This role is critical to optimising equipment reliability, maximising site productivity, and ensuring maintenance activities align with budgetary requirements and the organisation’s risk appetite. The position requires proactive collaboration with a broad range of internal stakeholders, including maintenance, processing, warehouse, and administrative teams, as well as professional engagement with external vendors, freight providers, and technical specialists to deliver safe, efficient, and sustainable maintenance outcomes.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Ownership of Rotable item strategy including

·Storage Strategy & Periodic inspections

·Status Tracking & Reporting

·Tendering & Co-Ordinating Rebuilds

·Quality control

  • Conduct reviews of critical spares including opportunities to de-risk through increased holdings or implement cost savings through strategic reductions.
  • Champion improvement initiatives within the processing plant in conjunction with the reliability team.
  • Construct high level stepped out procedures for large or complex work packages in the long-term horizon
  • Review execution of work packages and make necessary adjustments to the CMMS (Pronto) PM tasks and Project templates.
  • Work with Maintenance leadership to review plant performance (in terms of availability, breakdowns and backlog) and advise on the implementation of remedial or preventative action where necessary.
  • Co-ordinate the procurement of high lead time / value parts.
  • Support vendor management & long-term supply contracts.
  • Conduct life cycle costing analysis on major assets to support changes to economic life strategy.
  • Review plant history and recommend changes to PM maintenance schedules where appropriate.

About You:

  • Must provide evidence of at least one of the following:
  • A Minimum of 4 years of Trade experience relevant to Fixed Plant Maintenance (Electrician, Fitter & Turner, Boilermaker etc.)
  • Tertiary Qualification in Engineering or Equivalent
  • A Minimum of 2 years of maintenance planning experience
  • Must demonstrate appreciable Organisational, Administrative & Interpersonal skills, including the ability to comfortably run meetings and quickly formulate professionally written emails.
  • You must be mechanically minded, with demonstratable comprehension of standard maintenance literature such as navigating Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams / parts books.
  • Fundamental understanding of task execution required – including ability to identify the need for craneage, scaffolding, Elevated Work Platform or conflicting work fronts.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Project & Microsoft Excel is preferred, as well as prior use & understanding of any CMMS package (Computerized Maintenance Management System) – Ideally Pronto, but experience in Pronto is not exclusively required.
  • Problem Solving Aptitude
