Full-Time

Second Shift: 1:00 pm – 9:00 pm

Wages starting at $27.00/hr. for entry level candidates. This includes a $23/hr. base pay + $4/hr. shift differential. Pay will be determined based on experience. Experienced candidates are preferred. Selection and compensation will be determined based on the experience and skill set of the candidate. Candidate with industrial maintenance experience or mining experience are preferred.

Jefferson County Stone is an underground limestone mine/quarry seeking a second shift Maintenance Technician for our operation located in Louisville, KY. The successful candidate for this role will have an uncompromising emphasis on safety excellence, be a self-starter and will have responsibilities that include but not limited to

Perform routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs on stationary crushing, screening, and conveying equipment.

  • Perform routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs on stationary crushing, screening, and conveying equipment.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical issues with crushers, screens, conveyors, pumps, and other plant systems.
  • Replace or repair bearings, belts, pulleys, motors, gearboxes, liners, and other plant components as needed.
  • Conduct welding, cutting, and fabrication work to repair or modify equipment and structures.
  • Assist with equipment installation, alignment, and setup of new plant components.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance and service records.
  • Work closely with production personnel to minimize downtime and ensure safe, efficient plant operations.

  • Operate mobile equipment (e.g., forklift, skid steer, manlift) as needed for maintenance tasks.
  • Follow all company safety policies, lockout/tagout procedures, and environmental regulations.
  • Participate in daily safety meetings and communicate equipment issues promptly to supervisors.

Qualifications:

  • Must have dedication to safe work practices
  • Previous maintenance experience
  • Mechanical aptitude/ability to diagnose and perform plant repairs as needed
  • Must be willing to work a regular 1 p.m. – 9 p.m. shift
  • Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and stoop for extended periods of time throughout the workday, as required to perform essential job functions, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull materials or equipment weighing up to 50 pounds on a regular basis with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to learn quickly
  • Must be willing to work weekends and overtime as needed
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screening
