The Opportunity: We are seeking a detail-oriented Fixed Asset Security Manager to strengthen our agency’s Division of Information Technology Services (ITS) security posture through comprehensive oversight of the IT asset lifecycle. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate and compliant tracking of all technology assets, ensuring secure distribution, monitoring software governance, and coordinating with vendors to uphold security standards.Core Responsibilities:IT Asset Security and Inventory ManagementManage and safeguard agency-wide IT hardware including laptops, desktops, mobile devices, and network equipmentMaintain accurate, compliant, and auditable asset records within the asset management systemOversee the secure lifecycle of IT assets, from procurement through decommissioning, ensuring devises are properly tagged, assigned, and tracked Ensure software and equipment are cataloged in alignment with IT security policies and configuration standardsCoordinate secure distribution of IT equipment to DYS facilitiesOperational Oversight and Vendor CoordinationDevelop, implement, and enforce security focused policies and procedures for inventory control, asset management, and disposalCoordinate secure disposal of fixed IT assets with State Salvage, ensuring proper disposal procedures are followed and policies are enforcedMonitor software subscriptions, enterprise agreements, and maintenance contracts to support license compliance and reduce security riskMonitor budget spending, maintain invoice documentation, ensure proper approvals, post solicitations and obtain quotesServe as a point of contact for technology vendors and ensure order fulfillment aligns with security and asset management requirementsWhy Work for the State of OhioAt the State of Ohio, we take care of the team that cares for Ohioans. Or 12 mos. exp. as Information Technology Apprentice, 69910; successful completion of Ohio Cyber Apprenticeship program; additional 12 mos. trg. or exp. in Information Systems/Information Technology with a focus in one of the following areas: Software Engineering/Development, Data Analytics/Business Intelligence, Database Administration, Network, or IT Security.
Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above. Note: The Ohio Cyber Apprenticeship program is a program offered by the Department Administrative Services. 2000 hrs. of on-the-job experience and 200 certified instructional credits must be earned in order to complete this program.
