Are you a curent year 12 student with hands‑on with a Certificate II in Engineering and industry work experience, looking to kick-start your career in a brand‑new, modern workshop with a respected national employer?

🛠️ What you’ll be doing:

  • Assisting with set‑up, programming, and operation of CNC lathes and/or milling machines
  • Manufacturing high‑precision components
  • Performing routine machine maintenance and basic fault‑finding
  • Overhauling gearboxes, conveyors, pumps and driveshafts
  • Dismantling, cleaning, measuring, and assessing parts
  • Supporting small machining jobs and general workshop activities
  • Workshop upkeep and occasional local deliveries

✅ What we’re looking for:

This role is ideal for a current Year 12 student ready to start an Apprenticeship in January 2027. If you are looking to get a head start, you also have the flexibility to begin working immediately as a Trade Assistant.

  • Previous work experieence or exposure to CNC machining (lathes and/or mills)
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
  • Reliable, punctual, and safety‑focused
  • Sound computer literacy
  • Australian citizen or permanent resident

🎓 Training & Support:

You’ll be employed by MRAEL and supported by a dedicated Apprentice & Employment Consultant, providing:

  • Ongoing mentoring and performance support
  • Coordination of all off‑the‑job training
  • Regular check‑ins to support your progress through to completion
