My client in the Steel industry is looking for a qualified
Fitter and Turner to join their team
Minimum Requirements:
·A qualified Fitter and Turner with a minimum N3
Certificate
·Completed apprenticeship with a Trade Test Certificate
·A minimum of 3 years' experience as a Fitter and
Turner, preferably in a manufacturing environment
·CNC and CAD experience
·Must be prepared to work weekends and over time
·Experience in gearboxes, hydraulic- and
pneumatic systems is advantageous
·Be pro-active and able to use won initiative
·Be prepared to work overtime and carry out
standby duties on a roster basis
·Maintain a high standard of housekeeping at all
times
Duties:
·Analyzing the blueprints for mechanical systems
to determine the specifications of the components to be constructed.
·Constructing structural components from raw
materials.
·Using welding equipment to fuse structural
components.
·Inspecting fabricated components to ensure that
they are the correct size.
·Utilizing shears, power saws, cutting torches,
and chipper knives to cut structural components as needed.
·Creating a suitable maintenance schedule and
performing system maintenance accordingly.
·Conducting diagnostic testing on malfunctioning
systems to determine the root cause of the malfunction.
·Replacing damaged or defective structural
components as needed.
·Adhering to all work-site safety rules and
regulations.
