Job Description

Position: Fitness Specialist Location/Dept.: The Salvation Army Kroc Center (SAKC), Philadelphia, PAAvailability: ImmediateSchedule: Full Time- Must be willing and able to work with flexibility as required in performance of duties, or as requested to support the pre-opening and ongoing operations of the Kroc Center.Reporting Relationship: Fitness and Recreation Manager

Salary Range: $18.00Personal Training Rate: $30.00 per hour Group Exercise Instructor Rate $35.00 per hour

Responsibilities

The Fitness Specialist provides comprehensive fitness services to members and guests of the Center. The use of superior customer service in providing innovative programming to each Center member is required. Must be able to be flexible in support of the Kroc Center team in all areas of center operation, as needed and assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science or equivalent in Exercise Science or related health/fitness field. Prior work experience or successfully completed internship in fitness industry preferred. Personal training certification (ACSM, NASM or NSCA) preferred. Current CPR/AED required. Strong customer service and interpersonal communication skills required. Must be able to read, write and communicate in English. Must have ability to work and relate well with people. Proficiency in oral and written communication skills. As a Mandated Reporter, must provide proof of having completed training on recognizing and reporting child abuse meeting the training standards of PA Act 153 of 2014 within 30 days of employment with recurrent training required every three years thereafter. Meets the Child Protection Clearances required by PA Act 153 to include PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check and FBI Criminal Record Check. Must possess understanding of and appreciation for the Mission of The Salvation Army and the RJKCCC.
