Job Description

Minimum Hiring Wage:

From $20.78 per hourScheduled Hours: Day Shift, Rotating Weekends.

A Brief Overview

To serve employees, corporations, community, and patients in their objective for improved health and fitness. Develops and implements exercise, educational and preventative health programs for staff, community, and/or local organizations, according to recommendations by AACVPR and CMS.

What you will do

  • Administer emergency first aid, wrap injuries, treat minor chronic disabilities, or refer injured persons to physicians.
  • Advise clients about proper clothing and shoes.
  • Evaluate individuals' abilities, needs, and physical conditions, and develop suitable training programs to meet any special requirements.
  • Explain and enforce safety rules and regulations governing sports, recreational activities, and the use of exercise equipment.
  • Instruct participants in maintaining exertion levels to maximize benefits from exercise routines.
  • Monitor participants' progress and adapt programs as needed.
  • Observe participants and inform them of corrective measures necessary for skill improvement.
  • Offer alternatives during classes to accommodate different levels of fitness.
  • Plan physical education programs to promote development of participants' physical attributes and social skills.
  • Plan routines, choose appropriate music, and choose different movements for each set of muscles, depending on participants' capabilities and limitations.
  • Teach individual participants through instruction and demonstration, utilizing knowledge of fitness techniques of participants' physical capabilities.
  • Regular and reliable attendance.
  • Ensure adherence to Cardiac Rehab requirements as set forth by CMS.
  • Review patient referrals to ensure the orders meet medical necessity and are appropriate for program participation.
  • Demonstrates ability to assess and perform medical fitness assessment.
  • Demonstrates ability to prescribe and implement a safe exercise program.
  • Demonstrates ability to modify exercises for special populations.
  • Translates or explains what information means and how it can be used.
  • Performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials.

Qualifications:

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Sciences, Exercise Physiology or Health Exercise Preferred
  • Master’s degree in Arts/Sciences (MA/MS) Master’s Degree in a related area Preferred
  • Experience in Cardiac Rehabilitation Preferred
  • 1-3 years Experience in Fitness Programming Preferred
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support - American Heart Association Preferred
