Summary:

Day to day instruction and supervision of participants in group fitness classes. Provides instruction and supervision of participants in group fitness and wellness classes Type of Opportunity: PRN Job Exempt: No Job is based: Presbyterian Healthplex Work Shift: Days (United States of America)

Responsibilities:

  • Leads a variety of group fitness classes, including low-impact and step aerobics, indoor cycling, Pilates, strength and conditioning, Tai Chi Chih, NIA, and yoga.
  • Maintains a current, nationally recognized fitness industry certification or registration.
  • Monitors participants’ responses to exercise and reports concerns to the appropriate member of the Healthplex medical or exercise team.
  • Maintains accurate patient records and documentation in accordance with facility policies.
  • Assists with maintaining departmental facilities, equipment, supplies, and materials to promote efficiency and ensure the health, comfort, and safety of patients and staff.
  • Maintains professional knowledge through membership in professional organizations and regular participation in in-service programs, workshops, conferences, or relevant courses.
  • Maintains current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma required.
  • Nationally recognized fitness industry certification or registration preferred. Accepted certifications may include ACSM, NSCA, ACE, AFAA, NETA, NIA White Belt or above, Tai Chi Chih, Tai Chi, Pilates Method Alliance, Heart Zones, Spinning, Zumba, Les Mills, Yoga Alliance, PWR!Moves, LSVT BIG, or LSVT LOUD.
  • One year of group fitness instruction experience with healthy and special populations preferred.
