Job Description

We're seeking an experienced Fishing Tool Supervisor III to lead critical operations at well sites across the oil and gas industry. In this senior-level role, you'll serve as the primary client interface, managing complex fishing tool operations, mentoring field personnel, and ensuring the highest standards of safety and service quality. This position requires technical expertise, leadership capabilities, and the ability to troubleshoot complex downhole challenges while maintaining 24/7 availability to meet customer needs.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Lead Well Site Operations: Act as the key client interface at well sites, managing service assignments, coordinating Weatherford personnel, and ensuring superior service delivery

  • Technical Expertise: Troubleshoot and resolve complex fishing tool issues, perform engineering checks and calculations on location, and provide technical advisory support to management and clients

  • Safety Leadership: Maintain the highest HSE standards, lead daily safety meetings, conduct Job Hazard Analysis (JHA), and ensure all activities comply with Weatherford's Rules to Live By

  • Equipment Management: Test, operate, and maintain fishing tools and equipment according to work instructions; manage complex equipment installations in the field

  • Team Development: Mentor and supervise junior field specialists, providing direction and knowledge transfer to build team capabilities

  • Quality Assurance: Monitor and analyze operational data, conduct quality control analysis, and contribute to Root Cause Analysis investigations for equipment failures

  • Job Execution: Plan and prepare tools, mobilize equipment, execute operations, and complete all documentation including job reports, WPTS data entry, and service tickets for timely client invoices

  • Client Relations: Develop and maintain positive client relationships, interpret data to optimize services, and ensure repeat business through exceptional service quality

  • Inventory Control: Effectively manage inventory and supplies required at well sites; coordinate with R&M teams on equipment failures

Skills / Education

  • 2½ - 4 years of experience in the Oil & Gas industry

  • High School Diploma

  • Technical Certificate from accredited Technical/Vocational School

  • Strong fundamentals in Mechanics, Electricity, Electronics, Pneumatics, and/or Hydraulics

  • Proficiency in Mathematics, including mathematical reasoning for field calculations

  • Knowledge of basic Physics and Chemistry principles

  • Computer fundamentals and software computation capabilities

  • Critical thinking, complex problem-solving, and active learning abilities

  • Excellent reading, writing, judgment, and decision-making skills aligned with company policies

  • Strong time management and quality control analysis capabilities

  • Service-oriented mindset with excellent client communication skills

  • Physical capability to perform demanding field operations

  • Ability to operate tools and machinery effectively and efficiently

  • Spatial reasoning for tool assembly, repair, and modifications

  • Information ordering and proactive problem identification skills

  • Travel Requirement: 50-75% of domestic and potentially international travel
