Job Description

The company is a premier seafood processor and specialty food distributor serving a broad range of clients in the seafood industry. The Fish Filleter is responsible for filleting various species of fish with precision and efficiency while ensuring minimal product loss. This position requires attention to detail, adherence to food safety standards, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The role also involves maintaining cleanliness, ensuring proper equipment function, and meeting productivity and quality expectations. Training will be provided.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Expertly cut and fillet a variety of fish species while minimizing waste.
  • Maintain cleanliness of workstations and equipment to uphold the highest sanitation standards.
  • Inspect and ensure proper functioning of filleting equipment; report any malfunctions to the supervisor.
  • Handle seafood products correctly to maximize shelf life and ensure food safety.
  • Communicate any production or safety concerns to the supervisor.
  • Clean and sanitize work areas and equipment at the end of each shift.
  • Identify and report any quality issues to supervisors.
  • Meet productivity and quality expectations as set by the supervisor.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: 1-2 years of experience using fillet knives, food processing equipment, and following food safety protocols in a fast-paced environment (seafood processing experience preferred).
  • Skills & Abilities:
    • Strong attention to detail.
    • Ability to work efficiently and meet production deadlines.
    • Basic English speaking and writing proficiency.
  • Work Environment:
    • Must be comfortable working in a cold environment (approximately 35ºF).
    • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive hand movements.

Pay Rate:

  • $22/h - 23/h
