
Wayside Chapel is seeking a First Nations Relationships Lead to lead cultural partnerships, strengthen community connections, and embed cultural safety across our organisation. This is a unique leadership opportunity to shape Mob Space, our dedicated First Nations program, and help ensure our work truly reflects the voices, wisdom and strength of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
This role is an identified position and is open to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander applicants only.
About the Role
This is a senior, community-facing role grounded in cultural integrity, advocacy, and relational leadership. You’ll work across teams and communities to co-design culturally safe programs, represent Wayside in key networks, and ensure that cultural knowledge and healing principles are embedded in everything we do. You will support Mob Space and help Wayside grow stronger in its commitment to self-determination, equity and respect.
This is a part-time position, working 4 days a week.

We are the designated state-wide major trauma centre for paediatrics in Victoria and a Nationally Funded Centre for cardiac and liver transplantation.

Our campus partners, the Murdoch Childrens Research Institute (MCRI) and The University of Melbourne Department of Paediatrics, along with the RCH Foundation, are on site with the hospital in Parkville. In 2016–17, more than 85,654 children attended our Emergency Department, 322,291 specialist clinic appointments were held which was almost 70,000 more than the previous year, more than 17,000 surgeries were performed and more than 48,552 children were admitted to our wards.
