Job Description

Bring your culinary expertise to Civeo Premium Services Employees LP at the Tourmaline Monias Camp near Chetwynd, BC. As a First Cook, you'll play a key role in delivering high-quality meals and exceptional service to our guests while working in a dynamic remote camp environment. This position is ideal for a skilled and motivated cook who takes pride in food quality, teamwork, and creating a positive dining experience.

Reporting to the designated supervisor, the successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and presenting a variety of high-quality menu items, including breakfast, lunch, dinner, salads, sandwiches, entrees, and specialty dishes. The First Cook will support kitchen operations through inventory control, food safety and sanitation compliance, menu execution, and mentoring kitchen team members while maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient work environment.

What do we offer:

  • Hourly Rate: $24.15/ hour
  • Schedule: 20/10 rotation, 10-hour shifts
  • Estimated Gross Monthly Earnings: up to $5,400/ per month (Figures are estimates before deductions and may vary based on actual hours worked and payroll cycles)
  • Company-provided travel from: Edmonton YEG, Calgary YYC, or Vancouver YVR

Key Responsibilities

  • Plans and organizes the culinary team in the preparation of food items and task assignments.
  • Assist with menu ordering, inventory, and daily production planning.
  • Preparation and production of menu items.
  • Ensure daily production levels are met.
  • Ensure all daily, weekly and monthly cleaning lists are completed.
  • Ensure food quality, food safety and service standards are met and maintained daily.
  • Adhere to safety policies and procedures by following company Safe Work Practices and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Provide day-to-day guidance and training to kitchen staff.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • 1-3+ years of food service experience, preferably in a remote environment.
  • Red Seal Cook designation is an asset.
  • Food Safety certification valid in the province of Alberta is required.
  • First Aid Certification is an asset.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
  • Must be able to move, lift, carry, pull, push, and place objects away weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
  • Must successfully pass a pre-access Drug and Alcohol test as a condition of employment.
