He aha te tūranga - About the role:

As a Hato Hone St John First Aid Tutor you will deliver First Aid courses to our key business customers and to the general public.

We are looking for a confident, motivated First Aid Tutor with a passion for the delivery of high-quality training, in a way that engages attendees and delivers great results for our customers.

Although desirable, previous experience as a first aid tutor isn't mandatory.

We deliver courses 7 days a week so, although not regular, some weekend work is necessary. Your days can be long so you will need to be available outside of a usual 9-5 day. We ensure you are given rostered days/hours off to compensate for any additional hours.

This is a permanent, full-time position, working 40 hours/week. Your main hub will be Queenstown however, travel will be required to cover courses in Alexandra, Wanaka and Cromwell.

Your hard work will be rewarded by a great starting rate of $62,944.20/annum, with an increase once signed off to teach independently to $64,504.80. You'll also receive uniform, professional development, great work stories, and the deep satisfaction that comes from making a life changing difference to individuals in your community.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • (Ideally) adult education or workshop facilitation experience
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with people from all walks of life, with the ability to motivate others
  • Confident communication and presentation skills
  • The ability to problem solve and stay calm while doing so
  • Awesome organisational and planning skills
  • Enthusiasm to complete relevant adult education qualifications
  • Full NZ driver licence
