Job Title: Firmware Engineer II
Job Duties: Toyota Material Handling Inc. seeks a Firmware Engineer II in Greene, NY, to directly contribute to software and firmware development projects. Write and review functional specifications based on business requirements. Write code, document code, test and validate, and support products in the field. Responsible for the design and quality of a single module or component that comprises a larger system. Perform engineering analysis and design of vehicle systems ranging from basic to complex, using traditional techniques such as calculations, testing, evaluation, and computer-aided engineering tools. Extract, transform, and analyze large datasets to generate actionable insights that support engineering objectives. Local telecommuting permitted 1 day a week. Annual salary: $83,340 to $130,350.
Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field plus two years of engineering experience in:
1. C or C++ for embedded systems development for real-time, safety-critical applications;
2. Test-Driven Development (TDD) and unit testing frameworks for embedded environments;
3. CANopen protocol and related communication standards used in industrial automation and vehicle control;
4. Automation or scripting languages like Perl or Python for testing, tooling, and process automation;
5. Development applications with ARM architectures for embedded platforms; and
6. TI Tiva C series or NXP microcontrollers in embedded system applications.
