You will respond to aircraft incidents, building emergencies, and medical situations, helping to protect colleagues and the wider site community. Working as part of the Rescue Fire Fighting Service, you will maintain operational readiness through regular training, equipment checks, and assessments while delivering a professional emergency response service.Core duties:Respond to aircraft incidents, building emergencies, medical emergencies, and other situations across the licensed aerodrome areaComplete routine station duties, inspections, and operational checks of rescue and firefighting equipment, ensuring readiness when requiredParticipate in mandatory training, exercises, and competency assessments to maintain the knowledge and skills required for this positionMaintain required levels of operational fitness, training, and professional competence in line with Fire Service requirementsWork collaboratively with colleagues and other teams across Warton Aerodrome to provide an effective and professional emergency response serviceEssential Skills:Demonstrable experience and capability as a Firefighter within a Local Authority, aviation, military, or similar operational firefighting environmentCurrent recognised Firefighter qualification, such as NVQ Level 3 Operational Firefighter, CAP 699/Civil Aviation Authority certification, MOD equivalent, or comparable recognised qualificationRecognised Breathing Apparatus Wearer qualification and a current First Aid certificate or equivalentFull UK driving licence, with an LGV Category C licence or willingness and ability to achieve this once in roleGCSEs or equivalent in English, Maths, and Science, alongside the required physical fitness to successfully complete a Fire Service medicalThe Rescue Fire Fighting Service (RFFS) Team:The RFFS supports civil and military aircraft operations across Warton Aerodrome.
