Safety is a core value of our operations, and we are seeking a dependable Fire Watch / Helper to support on-site welding and construction activities in Jamestown, ND.

Summary
The Fire Watch / Helper is responsible for maintaining fire safety during and after welding operations, identifying potential hazards, and responding quickly to emergency situations. This position requires strong attention to detail, flexibility in scheduling, and a commitment to safety and professionalism.
Training will be provided, including all required safety procedures and personal protective equipment (PPE). In addition to Fire Watch duties, this role may include assisting other team members with general tasks not directly related to fire watch. Work will be performed in and around ammonia refrigeration systems. Due to required training and site onboarding, we are offering a competitive hourly wage to attract a local, reliable individual interested in steady work and continuity on site.
Schedule & Availability
- Typical shift: 1:00 PM – 9:30 PM
- Daily hours: 8–10 hours
- Weekly schedules may include:
- - 5–6 days at 8 hours per day
- - 5 days at 10 hours per day
- - Occasionally 6 days at 10 hours per day
- Welding stops at 5:00 PM; Fire Watch coverage is required for a minimum of 4 hours afterward
- Flexibility is required based on operational needs
Duties and Responsibilities
Fire Safety and Prevention
- Maintain a working knowledge of fire protection equipment and proper use, including fire extinguishers
- Monitor workplace activities to identify and address potential fire hazards during operations
- Adhere to and enforce all safety permit conditions and site requirements
- Prevent ignition by ensuring flammable materials are kept away from ignition sources
Monitoring
- Inspect the work area before and during shifts for leaks or releases of flammable vapors or liquids
- Maintain visual and verbal communication with team members when possible
- Report hazardous conditions or fire incidents immediately to the supervisor

Work Environment
- Indoor and outdoor work environments
- Exposure to moderate to extreme temperatures (heat and cold)
- Extended periods of walking, standing, observing, listening, and communicating

QualificationsRequirements:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Must be at least 18 years of age or meet state requirements
Physical & Professional Requirements
- Ability to walk and stand for extended periods
- Maintain professional appearance and conduct at all times
