Overview

At HCI Systems, Inc. we're seeking a Fire Sprinkler Engineer to join our dynamic Ontario, CA team. If you are passionate about designing fire protection systems that enhance safety, meet specifications, and comply with city or county regulations, we want to hear from you. We utilize AutoSprink design software to create innovative designs and hydraulic calculations.

Designer Job Summary: Prepare layouts of sprinkler systems, detail drawings and diagrams. Plans prepared by designers include all views and dimensions necessary for the installation of a code compliant fire protection system.

Responsibilities

  • Design and hydraulically calculate complete sprinkler and standpipe systems using AutoCad, AutoSprink, Navis and Revit Software
  • Coordinate design with other building trades
  • Produce stock list of material required throughout job progression
  • Coordination with project manager and internal teams

Qualifications

  • 1-2 years of experience in Fire Sprinkler Design is desired. Training will be provided for less experienced candidates.
  • NICET Certification preferred but not required.
  • Rare overnight travel may be required.
  • High School Diploma preferred.
  • Thorough knowledge of NFPA standards, government fire safety standars, and FM Global datasheets
  • Demonstrated proficient in Autodesk, Autocad, Revit, AutoSPRINK, Navisworks, and Microsoft Office software
  • Capable of performing hydraulic calculations and experience with 3D BIM coordination
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills with a proven ability to handle multiple tasks.
  • Proactive and deadline-oriented, with the capacity to complete assignments in a timely manner
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Effective multitasking and focus in a fast-paced environment.
  • Maintaining a positive and upbeat attitude
  • Ontario CA office 5 days a week - Hybrid and remote positions are not available.
