Location: Penrith, New South Wales

The Role

We’re seeking Fire Service Technicians to deliver high-quality inspection, testing, maintenance, and minor repairs of fire protection systems across a range of commercial and government facilities. You’ll help keep facilities safe, compliant, and operating reliably while working closely with clients and the HIX team.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Carry out inspection, testing, maintenance, and minor repairs of fire protection systems and equipment
  • Service fire extinguishers, fire blankets, hose reels, hydrants, exit and emergency lighting systems
  • Test and maintain automatic fire detection and alarm systems, suppression systems, sprinklers, fire pumps, and passive fire systems
  • Complete all safety, quality, compliance, and service documentation accurately and on time
  • Respond to client queries and deliver high-quality customer service onsite
  • Support quoting and job scoping through site assessments and technical input
  • Ensure all works are completed in line with Australian Standards and company procedures
  • Maintain vehicle stock levels, equipment, and materials required for service delivery
  • Work closely with supervisors, managers, apprentices, and team members to ensure efficient job completion
  • Participate in on-call and emergency response work as required

Your Education, Experience & Skills

  • FPAS Accreditation or similar industry accreditation (highly regarded)
  • Demonstrated experience within the Fire Services Industry across inspection, testing, and maintenance
  • Experience servicing fire extinguishers, hose reels, hydrants, emergency lighting, detection systems, suppression systems, and passive fire systems
  • Strong understanding of Australian Standards and compliance requirements
  • White Card and current Driver’s Licence (essential)
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • High attention to detail with strong problem-solving capability
  • Experience using electronic job management and safety systems (highly regarded)
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to coordinate site requirements and manage workload effectively
  • Full working rights in Australia (essential)
