Fire Safety Advisor

Hinkley Point C


Main Duties:


Conduct Fire Risk Assessments and monitor completion of remedial actions.
Carry out site inspections, audits, and checks on fire safety systems.
Maintain fire safety documentation, logs, and compliance records.
Deliver fire safety training, including fire warden/marshal sessions and evacuation drills.
Advise on fire safety measures, policies, and best practice across the organisation.
Support fire safety input on projects, refurbishments, and building plans.
Investigate fire incidents or near misses and produce reports with recommendations.
Liaise with Fire & Rescue Services, contractors, and internal teams.
Keep up to date with fire safety legislation, standards, and organisational requirements.


Requirements:


Recognised Fire Safety qualification (e.g., NEBOSH Fire Safety Certificate, Fire Safety Management qualification).
IOSH or NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety.
Membership of the Institute of Fire Safety Managers (IFSM), Institute of Fire Engineers (IFE), or similar.
Previous experience in a fire safety, H&S, or compliance‑related role.
Experience conducting Fire Risk Assessments
Strong understanding of the Fire Safety Order 2005 and associated legislation.
Knowledge of fire engineering principles.
