WHAT YOU WILL ACHIEVE
The Fire System Technician is responsible for the inspection, testing, and maintenance (ITM) of fire protection systems, including water-based fire sprinkler systems. This position ensures compliance with the standards and requirements outlined in NFPA 25 (Standard for the Inspection, Testing, and Maintenance of Water-Based Fire Protection Systems) with opportunity to learn and support other NFPA required ITM activities. Pfizer will provide training to perform the inspections if needed.
HOW YOU WILL ACHIEVE IT
Conduct scheduled inspections, testing, and maintenance of water-based fire sprinkler systems as required by NFPA 25.
Document all findings, deficiencies, repairs, and maintenance activities accurately and in a timely manner.
Identify and report any non-compliance issues or hazards to management and recommend corrective actions.
Stay current with updates to NFPA standards and participate in ongoing training as needed and as directed.
Communicate effectively with site personnel such as area building owners, facility managers, loss control and fire chiefs as directed and required.
Other work as directed by Loss Control/Risk Management Engineer or designee.
QUALIFICATIONS
Must-Have
Applicant must have Secondary School/High School or vocational school, OR specialized certifications
NFPA Certified Fire Inspector or equivalent desired (training will be provided if needed).
Experience in fire protection system inspection, testing, and maintenance is highly desirable (training will be provided if needed).
Ability to interpret technical documents, codes, and standards.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and compliance.
Effective communication skills (verbal and written).
Strong mechanical aptitude.
Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
Nice-to-Have
Technical or vocational training in fire protection systems preferred.
Knowledge of NFPA standards and associated ITM procedures is preferred (training will be provided if needed).
Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices.
Solid understanding of Food and Drug Administration PSM.
Experience with continuous improvement activities.
Strong problem-solving skills set.
Ability to use basic technology and software for documentation, reporting, research, and communication.
Ability to work independently and effectively with others.
All duties must be carried out in strict accordance with applicable codes, standards, and organizational policies, with a focus on maintaining safety and regulatory compliance at all times.
PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in various environmental conditions across this site (indoors, outdoors, mechanical rooms, clean rooms, etc.).
Ability to work with various power and hand tools.
Ability for walking and standing much of the working day.
Comfortable working at heights, overhead and in confined spaces as required by inspection tasks.
Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as necessary.

Secondment 18-24 months
