The Role

This individual will serve as a technical leader for fire protection engineering efforts supporting mission-critical and secure facility projects. The person will collaborate closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams, architects, and clients to develop integrated fire protection and life safety solutions that meet rigorous operational, regulatory, and client-specific requirements.

  • Lead the design and execution of fire protection and life safety systems for hyperscale data centers, secure facilities, and other mission-critical projects.
  • Develop and review fire suppression, fire alarm, and life safety system designs in compliance with NFPA, IBC, IFC, UFC, and client-specific standards.
  • Serve as the primary technical resource and client liaison for fire protection engineering scopes across complex infrastructure projects.
  • Coordinate closely with mechanical, electrical, structural, architectural, and security teams to ensure fully integrated system designs.
  • Support project planning activities including proposal development, scope definition, scheduling, and technical coordination.
  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers while contributing to internal knowledge sharing and process improvement initiatives.
  • Support troubleshooting and problem-solving efforts related to fire protection system performance, constructability, and compliance.
  • Travel occasionally to project sites and office locations as needed to support project execution and client engagement activities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related engineering discipline required.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required with Fire Protection Engineer (FPE) designation strongly preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in fire protection engineering with experience supporting mission-critical, hyperscale data center, government, or secure facility projects preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of NFPA standards, IBC, IFC, UFC requirements, and fire protection system design tools such as Revit, AutoSPRINK, HydraCAD, or similar platforms required.
