Osborn Engineering is seeking a Fire Protection and Life Safety Associate for our Cleveland office. The successful candidate will have 0-3 years’ experience in the planning, design, development, and construction phases of a variety of project types. This position reports directly to the Manager of Fire Protection and Life Safety and will work closely with the directors, managers, and engineering staff to ensure that our client’s needs and expectations are exceeded.

Osborn is a fully integrated multi-disciplined design firm that uses a specialized team approach to engineering projects. These teams are comprised of a staff of more than 350 professionals that provide designs for all phases of a wide range of projects. Osborn has specialists in civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection and life safety, technology engineering, transportation and commissioning. Position Responsibilities:

  • Perform analysis, design and documentation of Fire Suppression and Fire Alarm systems under direct supervision.
  • Perform hydraulic calculations under direct supervision.
  • Coordinate with other A/E disciplines for all Fire Protection design elements, including but not limited to, architectural, MEP, civil, and structural.
  • Assist in preparing design deliverables for SD, DD, and CD level documents with oversight and training, including, but not limited to, written reports/narratives, drawings, and specifications.

Job Requirements/Qualifications:

  • 0 – 3 Years of experience in Consulting Engineering.
  • Knowledge of design and modeling software, specifically Revit.
  • Excellent Organizational and Communication skills.
  • Proactive and Collaborative team member.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Fire Protection Engineering Preferred.
  • EI License Preferred.

Posted salary ranges reflect market-based averages for the role. Final compensation will be determined based on each candidate’s experience, qualifications, and overall fit for the position.
