Swan Global W.L.L. is seeking qualified and experienced Firemen to be deployed at a major industrial fuel facility in Doha, Qatar. The selected candidates will be responsible for fire prevention, protection, and emergency response operations across depot, plant, warehouse, and office locations. This is a long-term engagement requiring highly competent professionals with a
strong oil & gas or industrial firefighting background.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Stand by at the designated fire station and respond immediately to alarms, operating all relevant firefighting appliances during emergency situations
Inspect, maintain, and test portable and handheld firefighting equipment; support drills, demonstrations, and staff training sessions
Patrol critical areas of the facility; identify and report unsafe acts or conditions; ensure continuous equipment operability
Inspect, clean, and test firefighting apparatus and tools including hoses, fittings, hydrants, ladders, and extinguishers
Operate radios and telephones; log and communicate status updates to facility control and focal points
Coordinate with Civil Defense authorities as required during incidents and emergencies
Conduct firefighting drills, practice sessions, and safety awareness talks
Train internal fire squads in line with facility procedures and requirements
Coordinate with Security personnel as required
Maintain accurate logs, reports, and documentation as required
MANDATORY QUALIFICATIONS & CERTIFICATIONS
All certifications must be valid and current at time of deployment. Refresher training must have been completed within the last 6 months.
Basic Firefighting Certificate — valid and current (mandatory)
Advanced Firefighting Certificate — valid and current (mandatory)
Basic First Aid Certificate — valid and current (mandatory)
HAZMAT / HAZCOM Training — must be completed pre-deployment
Confined Space Entry Certification — must be completed pre-deployment
Refresher Training Proof — within last 6 months prior to deployment
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Minimum 5 years of frontline firefighting experience in oil & gas, petrochemical, fuel storage, or similar heavy industrial environments — MANDATORY
Hands-on experience operating firefighting appliances, fire trucks, and emergency response vehicles
Proven experience in fire prevention, inspection routines, and emergency response
Experience conducting firefighting drills, training sessions, and safety awareness programs
Familiarity with Civil Defense codes and local authority fire safety regulations in Qatar (preferred)
DRIVING LICENSE REQUIREMENTS
Both licenses are mandatory and must be valid Qatari licenses Costs of obtaining these licenses will NOT be reimbursed by the employer.
Heavy Vehicle (HV) Driving License — Qatari license to operate fire trucks and heavy firefighting vehicles
Light Motor Vehicle (LMV) Driving License — Qatari license, Manual transmission, to operate support and utility vehicles
AGE REQUIREMENT
Candidates must be a maximum of 35 years of age at the time of initial deployment and mobilization
This age criterion applies to all replacement staff supplied during the contract period
SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
Technical Skills
Extensive knowledge of firefighting tactics, strategies, and equipment
Competence in the use of breathing apparatus (BA) and rescue equipment including confined space rescue gear
Ability to inspect, operate, and maintain all types of portable firefighting and fire protection equipment
Knowledge of fire detection systems, hydrant systems, and sprinkler systems
Ability to operate and drive fire trucks and emergency response vehicles
Physical & Medical Requirements
Physically fit, vigilant, and capable of working in extreme heat and pressure conditions
Must pass a comprehensive pre-deployment medical/physical examination including: CBC, FBS, ECG, VOMax, HbA1c, Spirometry, Lipid Profile, Kidney & Liver function, and vision/audiometry tests
No disqualifying permanent disabilities (e.g. severe hearing loss, color blindness, prosthetics impacting duty)
No criminal record in Qatar or abroad
No addiction to drugs, alcohol, or other substances
Language & Communication
English — reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills are MANDATORY
Arabic — speaking and listening skills are preferred
Basic computer skills — Microsoft Word, Excel, and email for reporting and documentation
UNIFORM & PPE
The following Personal Protective Equipment will be provided by Swan Global W.L.L. :
Fire Suit — Aramid Fiber (sand color)
Firefighting Gloves — FHR 002
Firefighting Boots — FHR Leather
Safety Helmet — Calisia Vulcan 102 Type B (or approved equivalent)
Standard PPE — Coverall, safety shoes, goggles as per facility PPE matrix
All gear customized with company logo; name tag to be visible on uniform at all times
